Hi I highly recommend crnestudyguide.com. You will have to spend at least 3 months minimum to complete the study guide. I was 2nd time exam writer. I did not go to a class because I couldn't afford it. So I studied on my own using this guide along with my nursing books and articles. I also did lots of practice questions. Hi there! I agree with silverdragon102. Don't rush into taking the exam this june..I was a second time exam writer myself and I passed this time. My first take was June 2013 and tried my 2nd attempt this February. After I found out I failed, I took some time off with studying for about 2 months. I needed it to pick up myself again and evaluated myself why I failed and what I could do differently with my studying. I spent 3 months to study on my own in the library. I purchased the study guide of crnestudyguide.com which I highly recommend. A study guide where you will do all the hard work on your own using your own books and they also provide links to excellent canadian articles for reference.Check out the website. At first, I wasn't sure if it will really help me and was thinking if I should go to a class but I couldn't afford it. So I purchased and looked over the contents and was happy with it. So I stuck with it and made a study plan schedule. After I completed it. I did lots of practice questions. I also used Mosby and the crne prep guide. I went to write my exam with confidence. Don't be discouraged. You can do it.

Hello everyone, I am starting to prepare for Feb 2014 CRNE. Apart from using my nursing books, CRNE prep guide and other materials, I'm looking into signing up in an online course. I'm wondering if anyone has tried either of these two or both http://crnestudyguide.com/ and http://www.freshnurse.ca/crne-total-package/. If you guys have, which one is better? I'd like to know your recommendations between this two online courses based on your experience. Thank you! Jem

Okay..I have started working at LTC. At first, i thought that it was easy since all you have to do is give medications, documents, perform some vital signs when needed and assist some of the staffs. But when i found out that my preceptor has 45 residents to handle. OMG i was overwhlemed. She has been working there for a year now so she knows every resident including their medications and preference. The LTC has alot of italian residents and my preceptor knows some words so it's a bit easy for her to communicate. She's not italian btw. Right now im still in orientation stage, meaning following her around all the time and getting to know the residents and the routine. Now, im thinking of ways or things to suggest my preceptor so i can learn without being too overwhelmed with the number of residents once i start getting onto the real business. Any suggestions u can give me? It is also my preceptor's first time to become a preceptor that is why I wanted to make some suggestions to her.

Sparrow91 I chose LTC because of the 8hr shifts as opposed to 12hr shifts. I have a baby to take care of therefor 8hr shifts will perfectly work for me even if I have to go 5 or 6 days a week. Also I want to experience how to work at LTC so I can decide which area of nursing I would like to work on afterwards. I have experienced a lot of hospital setting during nursing school.

Most of my fellow students avoided LTC because they feel like they won't learn anything as oppose to working at hospitals. Is this true? I'm hoping I would get a full on experience in this area of nursing.
