  1. i work at a hosptial in arkansas. we give iv meds and regular meds. the only thing we dont do is blood or plasma. we can take over after the first 15 mins of blood.
  2. i think its a faculity policy. At our hospital you have to have a doctors order to bladder scan. Even though when you call the dr. and tell them patient is having trouble going or is retaining urine the first thing they ask is Have you scan them?
  3. I have been working at a hospital in arkanas for 2 years now, it was my very first job straight out of school, i took my boards in jan and started working in feb. I love the hosptial atomsphere but the pay here is not great i started at 12.11/hr i do get a 1.25 night diff, i work 12 hour shifts at night 7p-7a. I do enjoy being a nurse, although sometimes its hard being a lpn because in my case i get the entire workload and am expected to do everything. dont get me wrong im a hard worker and love doing what i do, but when u are in a room busy and the other rn on floor comes and gets you and says the person in the other room needs pain medication, and then goes and sits down it gets kinda old.
