Is it awkward bathing, dressing and wiping patients?
I don't find it awkward at all. I always try to imagine myself as the patient/resident. I imagine it to be a little embarrassing for the resident so my main focus is to protect their privacy and make them feel comfortable. Being a CNA can get "messy" but that is part of the job. You have to see past that and just help as needed.

First CNA interview tomorrow, any advice or tips?
UPDATE The interview was a success. It's been almost a year and I'm still employed there. Thanks all.

Never ever, ever give up...note to self and others!
Hi, MamaGyrl! Thank you so much for your opinion on CHA!. It's great to know that someone from the same city recommends the school and was able to make the commute using the MARC. Since it operates on weekends now, I'm going to take a few trial trips. I'm sure you'll do well on your exit exam. I called yesterday and was told to get in contact with Cynthia to schedule a test date to get the process started for the May class. Since they don't accept financial aid, it's important for me to know I'm investing my money in a great school. Your positive response has reassured me of my decision. One question, how long did it take to complete the program? The website says not to exceed 14 months, so I'm guessing some classes finish sooner. I haven't posted enough topics yet to respond to your PM about so here's my email, [email protected].

Comprehensive Health Academy LPN program
Hello All! I'm wondering if anyone here is from DMV and has attended Comprehensive Health Academy. I have heard that the staff is "firm" and the curriculum isn't easy but well worth the hard work. Can anyone vouch for this? Or disagree? I plan on starting the LPN program in May 2014. Any reviews or traveling tips would be helpful. I live and Baltimore and haven't decided if it's best to drive or use the metro. *This thread is also posted under MD, so you may have seen it already.

First CNA interview tomorrow, any advice or tips?
Hi there! I'm a recent grad from a CNA program in MD. I have an interview at a LTC facility in Towson tomorrow. I'm excited because this is my first interview since I began applying (I've been applying since Sept.) I'm also nervous because I don't know what to expect from the interviewer. Other than my clinical rotation, I don't have much experience working in a LTC facility. Any advice or tips on how to make this interview a success? What questions were you asked on your interview? Thanks
