  1. I am a student at a community college taking prerequisites for nursing school. I used to plan on majoring in Occupational Therapy but due to factors such as cost and length of schooling. In the long run, I plan to advance in the field of nursing by becoming an Advance Practice Nurse or Nurse Practitioner (since schooling takes as long as an OT and is very diversified.) I plan to do this after a couple of years in bedside nursing. However, people around me tell me that nursing is overly saturated and new grads can't find jobs. Is this true? I've been always interested in becoming a nurse because of the many applications you can do with it. Although therapy is less stressful, I don't think it's something I want to do... any advices from nurses (APN or non-APN) out there? Your opinions are highly appreciated. thanks a lot!
  2. Hello! I'm a CNA and I'll be starting my PT job by nextweek, (7-3 shift, 2x a wk), as a cna, what should I do on the first day? I'm really nervous, cosodering the fact that I'm 19 y.o., male, and skinny (although i'm 5'5 in height). I decided to work as a cna because I'll be taking up nursing, and I would like to learn basic nursing skills. SOME people tell me that the job is tough, however, the lifting part is all about technique, not about who's got a bigger body can do the job...Any advices? Thanks!
  3. I'm taking up nursing prerequisites at community college, a lot of people say that the nursing program has a waiting list, in what way can I avoid that? How can I be accepted into the program as soon as possible? Thanks. :)
