  1. @Massage2bRN - Hi! I would call the school and maybe talk to the Dean. I was told I had to have Chemistry, so I took it over the Summer and enrolled in Micro in the Fall last year. HOWEVER, I just talked to one of my nursing classmates yesterday who said she was given pre-approval to get in without even taking a Chem course. That would have been nice to know! I was under the impression we needed Chemistry to even get accepted to the program, so I did it anyway. They look at both GPAs from what I understand, but the focus would be on prereqs. Good luck to you!
  2. Yes! I thought it would show up as a course, but found it under the Student Connect tab. Thanks, Etrips!
  3. My distraction right now is that I will be having my second baby any day now. To be honest, that hasn't kept me from thinking about the program, lol! I am feeling stressed waiting around, but hopefully we hear something in the next week or so. Evidently, they send out email notifications first and then one comes out in the mail.
  4. I spoke with someone at admissions and the only information she could give was that they start notifying applicants after May 21st and letters go out in June. I'm definitely going a bit nuts and feeling super stressed out waiting around. Hopefully notifications get sent via email in the next week or so. Good luck to you all!
  5. summer03 - I had TEAS on the brain for some reason. Yes, I did mean NCLEX. I have heard that NVCC's program does truly prepare you, so that offers some relief! I am also considering GMU, mostly because it's local, but not tied down to that as I've heard other universities in VA offer online courses and flexibility. Thanks for your response! I'm biting my nails over here for another 2 months!
  6. @summer03 - I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but I am so anxious about testing; what are your suggestions for studying for the TEAS? I plan to try to study as I go through the program (assuming I get in) so I feel prepared when the time comes. I also want to work for INOVA hospitals. Also, are you now working toward your BSN? Which program are you attending? I was curious how long it would take. I'm currently cooking baby #2, so I have to be proactive in planning for the future in order to work around my family.
  7. June 21st sounds like a LONG way to go. I am so anxious! Update - I emailed and asked about the manilla folder issue and they said they put me on file and to just send one with a copy of my application. I attached the email to it just in case they weren't sure why I was re-sending. I got my receipt notice last night via email, so I guess now all I have to do is wait!
  8. Anyone else intensely nervous about finding out if you've made it into the program? I just submitted my application to the Traditional program. My GPA is 3.33 right now, but will go up at the end of April as I have 2 A's in courses and am confident I'll remain there. My TEAS scores were 98, 92, 98 (first time) I'm really worried because I just realized that I didn't send a manilla folder with my name and Student ID on it; I sent an email and will probably call them to ask if I should resubmit my application because I do have plenty of time. I wonder how strict they will be on that.
