I have just finished up my second year and will be applying for the NCLEX shortly. However, I am nervous and anxious when it comes to filling out the application. The question that asks "have you every had any certifications, license denied, revoked, or suspended" is freaking me out! Background: Over 2 years ago I was working as a Dialysis technician with a "Patient Care Technician" certification, as it turns out my boss and I both didn't realize my certification lapsed and I had been working without a certification for almost 6 months! When I went to re-apply they denied me my certification because it had been too long that I was working. Although I accept some of the blame for working and not being on the ball with my certification, my boss was also responsible for making sure I got re-certified and wasn't put on the schedule until I had done so. By saying this, I don't mean to blame my boss, but cannot accept full responsibility. I have not even thought about it until now. I plan on being honest with the board about it all. As I was advised to be from someone from the state board. They also couldn't give me an answer on whether or not it would be a problem. So I am wondering if anyone thinks my chances are good or if they will deny my application over this situation? I have a clean record, and have had my CNA license for 13 years. Any advice is appreciated...thank you.
