  1. Thanks psych I am getting ready to start doing it in July. Glad you like it ! I'm looking forward to starting it because I hate politics and get bored at jobs quickly learning new ehr doesn't bother me . Where do you base out if for the travel assignments ?
  2. Any advice anyone ??
  3. Nurse practitioners do not claim to be physicians and as any good health provider understands is when to refer to a more knowledgeable healthcare provider. Educate yourself before you speak. As with any profession there are plenty of NPs, PAs, AND MDs/DOs that are UNFIT to practice medicine. don't talk without information to back it up and this article if full of holes in it without any evidence to support it.
  4. I am about to start doing locum tenens most likely in July. Does anyone of a particular company they like? I have 3 years as an FNP with hospitalist, urgent care, and internal medicine experience. I am talking with Weatherby and Staffcare. I am just wanting to make sure that the Locums out there like what they do and have no problems finding jobs on a regular basis. I want to do 7 on 7 off because I am going to be traveling from Florida as a base and I refuse to work in that state on a regular basis because of the horrible practice laws, tried that and hated it and left, but I love living down there. Any tips would be great thanks :)
  5. Hello there I am a novice np as well and I work in a variety of settings including LTAC, nursing home, clinic, and will soon be doing inpatient rounding and rehab. Let me tell you it is perfectly normal to feel this way and it is as they say, it will take a good year or two for you to become comfortable in your new role. Always remember, the boards we take only verify that we are safe to practice at a novice level, our learning curve is constantly changing and adapting to the Benner stages of novice to expert. Hang in there you will do great.
