Hi everyone!! So happy to have found this! I had applied in the past and was rejected with a 3.0 average and a degree that was to be conferred at the end of the year. I decided that I really needed to improve my overall GPA, not just my last 5 FCEs, so I undertook a second degree to which I am scheduled to confer in April 2013. Nursing is still my goal, so I am going to reapply this year again. My GPA in my last 5 FCE is a 3.8/4.0 on the OMSAS scale, which is what I think they use. I have a Hon. BSc and hopefully a Hon. BA in April. I've done a variety of volunteer and extra-curriculars ranging from playing in a a musical ensemble, intramural sports, medical response and peer mentorship. To answer one of your questions, your references will get contacted, via email, once your application has been submitted. I believe it's a short form in which they rank you on a variety of factors that are related to the field of Nursing to see whether you are a good fit for the program. As for the questions on pre-reqs, it's best to contact them. Also, if you have a syllabus or remember the topics, it is important to include that! I think this is especially important for the Human physio requirement if the course you have taken is not on their equivalency list. Any other questions, just feel free to ask and I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge :). Good luck all and stay safe during this holiday season!
