Bsn at western governors
Thanks for the reply. What study guides did you use and how many hours did you study weekly? It seems like the best way to get through the courses is to use study guides for the similar classes from other programs.

What were your study strategies? Several students have given tips about how to avoid the busy work and get right to the assessments . Any advice is appreciated. thanks

Bsn at western governors
Hi commuter, ive read several of your posts about wgu and they are very helpful. The post about how to streamline the course load are great. Which courses were the most time consuming ? I just have to take the 10 bsn classes, I have all the pre reqs.

Thanks for your reply. Very helpful. How many hours are you studying and completing assignments per week? And which classes are the easier ones?

Bsn at western governors
Hello all. Enrolled in wgu for may 1, 2015.still not sure about it. The comments about the rn to bsn vary. I have 10 classes to take and want to complete the program in 12 months putting in 10 to 15 hours a week. Is this reasonable? Would love to talk to someone by phone with anyone who completed the program. Any comments are appreciated. I read in some reviews that there were a lot of very lengthy papers and others said a few short papers. Some students commented that the courses were very difficult and were impossible to study for and others said the opposite. So.... What's the story with this school because I'm enrolled in 2 schools and have not decided which one to go to. Thank you all for your comments .

does anyone know what FNP program accepts nurses from an acics accredited school
Thanks. I'll look into that. The school I will be attending is nlnac for rn and ccne for bsn. I already have a bs and I guess they want students because the acics accred was a non issue for them for enrollment into the bsn program. Great advice.

does anyone know what FNP program accepts nurses from an acics accredited school
Hello all, I am an RN that graduated from an ACICS school. At the time I had no idea about different accreditation and just understood that the school was accredited and that is what is important. I am starting a BSN program in a few weeks that is CCNE accredited and accepts students from ACICS schools. So here is my question .... every FNP program that I look up on their webpage says that the student must have graduated from a NLNAC (now ACEN) program. Does the CCCNE BSN now trump the ACICS RN and I have no issue going forwards or will I never be able to matriculate into an FNP program? Does anyone know of an FNP program that accepts a RN(acics) with a BSN (CCNE) into their program. Obviously I'm quite distraught about all of this. any advice is appreciated. Thank you everyone!

contact, droplet, airborne oh my!
Thanks for all the replies . I think the airborne needs a mask but only tb needs the N95. Chicken pox ( varicella ) and shingles ( herpes zoster ) are airborne. Herpes simplex is contact? I think herpes simplex is just standard - not sure on that one.

contact, droplet, airborne oh my!
need help with transmission precautions. I have the list of which illness falls under which precaution but I need some clarification as to the standard PPE to wear in different situations . so the way I understand it is standard plus contact, standard plus droplet, standard plus airborne determines what to wear based on different situations. is there a question bank for this? I have also seen nclex questions throw in suctioning of a pt that is on contact precautions so you have to know the standard ppe for suctioning which is a face shield? im not sure. can a face shield be replaced by a mask and goggles? sometimes yes sometimes no? If i'm feeding someone with out an infection I don't need to wear gloves? when do you isolate a pt? some illnesses are both contact and droplet etc but which ones? only TB gets the N95 respirator? aids is contact but if suctioning wear a gown and mask or gown and faceshield? or just a gown and not a faceshield. HELP!!! Thanks for any and all replies!!!

Very important question about accreditation
Thanks for that!! I have a few more questions. 1) there are some ccne bsn programs that will accept an rn from an acics school sooo will the ccne accred bsn trump the acics rn school and therefore not be an issue to enroll into a msn-fnp program ? 2) the rn is school is applying for acen but won't have it for a year - when acen is granted will I be considered or grandfathered as a grad from an acics school or a acen school? What a confusing mess!! Thanks.

Very important question about accreditation
Hello all, the rn school I am attending is acics accredited. Did not know much about NLN or ccne or acen or acics before I started. Is it a problem for me if I want to further my nursing education if I graduate from an acics school? thanks for any and all replies
