  1. I am smack in the middle of my first quarter at Shoreline. It IS hard. There is no debating that! But it's doable. The key is getting into a good study group really early on. Most people you talk to will tell you that they have never done all the reading (there is a TON of reading), but they rely on their study group to help. It has worked so far. I have my 3rd test tomorrow morning, so I may feel different tomorrow, haha! I am also a single mom with a 4 year old daughter who doesn't let me get anything done while she is awake.... If I can figure it out, I'm sure all of you can too. Granted, I haven't made it through first quarter yet, but I'm not terribly worried about it. The instructors are actually really great, and are aware of how much stress you are under. I had volunteered to do an extra presentation b/c someone dropped ( yes, this will happen every quarter) and then was later talking about the amount of stress I was under and I had a lot going on right then. So the instructor too the extra work away from me and asked someone else to volunteer. It was actually really great of her to recognize that it probably wasn't the best idea for me to take on more at that time. A lot of instructors wouldn't do that. Ok, that was a novel, but I just wanted to let you know that it IS possible to do this program as long as you work at it :). Those of you that got in or were wait listed will likely hear by tomorrow or Friday :-). Good luck to all of you!!
  2. I was wait listed originally but got a call yesterday telling me I was accepted! Congrats to you! I guess we will be meeting soon!
  3. Have you heard anything yet?
  4. Haha! I keep waiting to check the mail every day too, even though I know it's too early. Hopefully we will both get good news soon!!
  5. Oh wait. Did your friend mean that winter quarter was highly competitive? I thought you meant Spring quarter! That worried me!
  6. Oh no! If this quarter is really competitive then I'm not sure 101 pts will be enough :-(. I will reapply for Fall as well but the only thing I can really do is try to rack up more volunteer points. Ahh, so frustrating! But we can still hold out a little hope, right? Good luck!
  7. Just curious if anyone here is applying for the Spring 2013 nursing program at Shoreline. I am in the process of applying and am getting frustrated. My grades are excellent, yet due to lack of experience in the field my point tally is only at 101.3. I was just told that the minimum points for Winter 2013 was 104.25! I know it varies by quarter but has anyone gotten in or heard of anyone that got in with 101.xx pts? Just curious if anyone has any insights to share thanks!
