Hello, I am a 42 year old man who has always wanted a career in the medical field. I currently work in a low satisfaction job that pays pretty well, but I want something more. I have considered quitting my job and going into an LVN program, mostly because LVN can be completed fairly quickly and I can work at that while upgrading to RN. It is too bad that there doesn't seem to be any private RN programs that may charge an arm and a leg, but do not have the long wait lists. I have seen that Western Career College in Sacramento, Ca has an LVN program. Do any of you know of a similiar program for RN that I have missed. I have the money to pay for the training, but not the time to wait and be unemployed. Also, do you think that 42 is too old to start? I have had some training in that I was an EMT and participated in rescue competitions in that capacity. Thank you
