  1. Don't let your size keep you from your dreams! In my ER, sometimes we RELY on our big guys...as a source of intimidation, if nothing else! Also, running the halls of the ER will drop the pounds. I started the ER in August at 5'11" 326 lbs. I'm down nearly 50 lbs
  2. 12 weeks on tele as a new grad, transferred to the ED after a year & got 5 weeks

I made the same transition in August and I could not possibly be more happy! I was very burned out on tele. I'm very thankful for a background in tele, God knows I've used it in the ED! Good luck in your move!! (PS: ACLS & PALS should be all that's required of a new ED RN$
  4. I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but I really think you should choose one or the other. Both are very high stress areas and being fresh out of school, you really need time to 'get yourself together,' so to speak, get your basics together and your organization down. It's still only going to count as ONE year either way!
  5. Not necessarily a typo, but nuisance: our system had a 'cc list' with just about everything under the sun, but they free text EVERYTHING just so as not to manually select multiple complaints. LaZy!
  6. Wow. That is quite amazing!
  7. Perfect tips!!!
  8. ......'I'm allergic to toradol, hydrocodone, etc...the only one that works for me is that 'd' one...dilaudid?...yeah, that's it!' Had a gma one night that didn't know her grand kids last name :/ ...love it!
  9. I have tattoos and piercings & still call BS on the grown babies that have both but whine over an IV stick or blood draw. MAN UP :)
  10. The yelling, arguing & condescending tone are completely out of line. However, I like being honest with my pts. It sounds as if the truth could have been work tactfully expressed. :) just two cents!
  11. Almost 1 yr to the day. Initially worked cardiac tele, but the ED has my heart & soul!!
