ASU Post-Bacc 2014
Hi guys! I wanted to congratulate all of you that got in and encourage those of you an the wait list to keep up hope :-) Regarding hours: Dont forget the crushing load of homework you'll have to complete, its not the kind you can blow off. 14-20 hours a week. If you choose to read you'll spend 15-20 a week. Studying for exams, clinical and boards? 4-10 extra. When I first got into the program my family made fun of all the free time I would have after class. Its a trick.... there is NOOO free time. Regarding $$: Loans. The program will cost about $32,000 in tuition and fees plus books which run about $3000 (unless you rent). Like Jimmyphx74 said you can only get about 23,000 in subsidized loans so I suggest you check out private loans like wells fargo offers OR start saving like mad + paying off debt for summer tuition which is the hardest to cover because you've already blown your load in Spring. I'm so excited for you all and want to keep in touch as you start the program! I think we might meet you on your orientation day (I haven't heard details but we met the class before us that day as well). I'll try to find the fb page so you have my contact info if you have questions I might be able to answer :-)

ASU Post-Bacc 2014
Hey guys, I know I mentioned this before but keep in mind the wait list. A lot of applicants who are super competitive are ALSO applying to other programs. Even if they are offered a spot at ASU they may turn it down to pursue other options- at least 2 people in our class did. ASU receives a lot of applications from California and Colorado so many of those people will bail on the move prior to the start of class :-) Plus there is always UofA's MEPN program which most of you qualify for, it starts in May which gives you time to apply. P.S. to ryto, pretty sure you posted those stats to troll. If not...you def got in dude. Congrats on the awesome TEAS score. I think the program average is like...77%

I think you have a good chance. I know of people taken from the waitlist who scored in the 7o's.

ASU Post-Bacc Nursing Program 2013
Hi guys, I am currently in the program. I wouldn't worry too much about your grades, if you're above a 3.4 apply, take your teas and see what happens. If you are below 3.4 meet with the adviser and see what they say. I didn't think I had all the pre-reqs but we pulled a lot of it out from my first degree which I obtained over a decade ago :) When/where you took your pre-reqs does not matter a bit, I did about 60% of mine at the community colleges. To the poster with kids, if you can handle your classes now with children, you can do this program. If you can not, the traditional program might be better for you. The out of class work load is INTENSE. I don't have children and I quit my job, my husband has taken over all of the shopping and laundry and I still feel overwhelmed. You can do it, but you should be prepared to buckle down! Finally, there is always the wait list. At least 2 students in my class got pulled from the list days before class started and made it work. Just try your best in any classes you have left and good luck!

I looked up the course list in the general catalog and they're all offered in the early morning and late afternoon. Not sure if additional classes will be added, we'll be segregated into am or pm, or if we do clinicals BETWEEN am and pm. I just hope theyre grouped together because of the commute!

ASU Post-Bacc Nursing Program 2013
Hi all! Just found the forum while looking for parking situations on the 12th. Anyone plan on taking the light rail to class? Does anyone know if all our classes are in the NHI buildings? Cant wait to meet everyone!
