I may have already asked this on this forum, but I haven't received any responses, so I'll post again... Our ED currently uses a dry-erase board to manage patient flow and we have been looking into a system that is based on the internet (sorry for my lack of technical jargon). It is http://www.patienttrak.net and to run it, all we need are some new large flatscreen monitors, can be running on it very quickly (it's already setup on-line), and only pay a small fee per patient recorded each month. Questions: 1. Is anyone familiar with this system? 2. If so, what has your experience with it been? 3. Are there any drawbacks to using a computerized system versus a grease-board? We are probably going to proceed with it at least on a temporary/trial basis, but any feedback/heads-up on any of these questions would be greatly appreciated! Shelley

It is called Patient Trak and to run it, we apparently don't have to buy any new computers, can be running on it very quickly, and only pay a small fee per patient recorded. (so what do we have to lose, right???). But really, it sounds very promising for our facility since we have struggled to rid of our dry-erase board in the past and this looks like it may be THE solution. Questions: 1. Is anyone familiar with this system? 2. If so, what has your experience with it been? 3. Have you "interfaced" it with any other in-house systems? We are probably going to proceed with it, but any feedback/heads-up would be greatly appreciated!
