  1. There are definitely some areas that are sketchier than others. It's hard to say where the best place to live is .. I lived on Leroy street on the corner of Murray street and loved the area. Basically anywhere along Murray, Leroy, Chestnut, Walnut, etc. is a great location. The closer you are to Riverside the better. The closer you get to main street, the sketchier it is. Riverside, Leroy and Main street are great locations for buses though. I hope that helps. Google maps might be able to help with the streets! If you have any questions about a specific area, I'd be happy to help :)
  2. I definitely think Binghamton is the better option as far as money goes.. I'm not sure how the NYU program is, but Bing's nursing program is one of the top rated in the country!
  3. No way! I did too! I took A&P I and II, psych 111 and developmental! You were probably in my class! haha
  4. Yeah it's pretty competitive, the cheapest as far as new york programs go and a very highly rated program. I'm so excited :)
  5. @spiritedkid .. search fran on the binghamton website.. i'm pretty sure there is only one in the nursing department. If you e-mail her, she should get back to you in a day or so with the decision! @ peachypeach.. i heard there's about 90 for the BAT program!
  6. I actually really love Binghamton in the summer. I spent this past summer there taking prereqs for this program. The fall isn't terrible either .. these past two falls have been very mild in binghamton! That being said, the weather is kind of laughed at there, as it is usually ridiculous! It can be 60 and sunny one minute and rainy and freezing the second! I never know what to wear, and it can get freezing cold, but I guess I've gotten used to it. As long as the winters stay as mild as they have been, we'll be fine :)
  7. I got the acceptance e-mail a few days ago!!! I'm so excited! I wouldn't worry, for those of you that have not heard yet.. I was getting anxious seeing all of you guys get accepted so I sent an e-mail and heard that I was accepted a day later!! As for the deposit, the program starts in the summer of 2013, but technically the application is for fall 2013, so that could be where all of the confusion is coming from. I can't wait to meet all of you fellow BAT's!! If anyone has any questions about binghamton feel free to message me.. I just graduated from there this December. :)
  8. Generally, it depends on what type of housing you are looking for. A one bedroom apartment could be anywhere from 550-650 a month, give or take. If you lived in a 2 bedroom with a roommate, it'd probably be around 325-400 dollars a person/per month depending on how nice the place is. It should be relatively easy to find an apartment ... I found mine through craigslist, although there is an off campus housing website through the Binghamton University website that shows housing options as well. Binghamton is relatively easy to navigate with a car. Most housing is 10-15 minutes from campus and there are buses that run all throughout binghamton so it should be relatively easy to get around without a car. Hope this helps!
  9. I live in the area :) I did my undergrad here and am about to graduate this fall. Feel free to ask any questions!
  10. I applied to the 2013 BAT program too :) did you guys apply anywhere else and/or know when we should expect to hear??
