  1. Got a killer week coming up!

Hey Essarge: Your upcoming week just made me sick to my stomach.... I feel for ya! You get all my respect for even taking A&P I & II in the summer.... my prayers are with you!!! Good Luck
  2. Tell us about yourself.

Hello fellow nursing students. Thought I'd join the club I, ironically, just turned 24 yesterday! I have been working on my pre-req's for nursing since August, 1998. Needless to say, I have another good year of pre-req's to go considering I've...
  3. I agree! It was a great movie, but I was expecting more history than a love story. To me... it was a chick flick...hahaha! I went to see the movie with my boyfriend, who is actually going to school to become a pilot and here's me going to school t...
  4. Physician Care Assistant

I did call the hospital to verify and there was a miscommunication from the person who told me about this position. So yes... it is patient care assistant. I feel like such a goof, but nobody's perfect, right? Yes, I'll be making $10 hr on a med/s...
  5. Physician Care Assistant

Good point Fiestynurse! Maybe it's a hospital thing. Gosh, as I was re-reading my second post.... I compared a PCA pay to a PCA pay.... duh, I meant CNA. I'm not too in depth on the whole AMA & ANA regulations/rules/titles, etc., so I couldn'...

I just got a job as a PCA at a local hospital. I begin a three-week training course in July. Any word of advise from others who have gone through this or is in fact a PCA at this time. What is your day like, what are your duties, did it help you t...
  8. Getting started as CNA?

From what it seems from previous posts, it looks as if being a CNA or PCA is the route to take if your a current nursing student. I am currently about half-way through my non-nursing courses and beginning my clinicals in a year and a half. I am set...
  9. Pregnant during nursing school

Thanks for all the replies.... I didn't receive any for awhile and I figured everyone on the board thought I was a quack for even considering on planning on having a child during nursing school. I know if it happened, I would certainly deal with it,...
  10. Is it wiser to have a baby before clinicals, during summer break of clinicals, or just after nursing school? I'm interested in hearing other nursing student's opinion & experiences as well as the experienced nurses. Thanks!
  11. Any study tips for A&P?

Oh my.... you better hold on to every last nerve you have in your body for this class! It was by far the most interesting, but definitely the most challenging! Use notecards, study groups are great, I wish someone would have told me about that colo...
  12. I, too, am a nursing student working on prerequisites (part-time) and currently attending the second half of my anatomy requirements. Anatomy is probably the most interesting class I have ever taken, but my GOD.... IT'S SO STRESSFUL! I literally li...
