  1. Have you ever given a pt go lytely and had it not work?

    Is that unheard of? I have a patient who is admitted with belching continuously and she has already had lactulose as well as an NG tube placed to suction. The flat plate shows a ton of air and stool. Now she is half way through the golytely and has had no results, other than some increased air being released from her belly. What do you think. I am about to call the doctor. The patient is actually in at this point. She is 39 I think or about there. Thanks
