Hey everyone. Question, if i have a patient that comes up from the Emergency Department, and they have an IV fluid bag running without a pump, only by drips per minute. The ward requirements are usually to put everything on a pump. The IV bag has already been running and im unsure how much has gone through, how do i set up this bag on the IV pump correctly? Say an 8/24 IV fluid order and the bag looks 1/2-3/4 full. Do i still put in 1000mls. 125mls per hour? Even though 1000mls is not in the bag? Thank you in advance.
