MDC Nursing spring 2014
Who is going to be using the paperback reference books and who is planning on using the Nursing Central app? I want to get the Nursing Central app that has them all together but still not sure if it will be a problem during clinicals to use your phone to look at the apps for reference. If anyone is planning to get the app, its available at the Unbound Medicine website. They are giving an extra 20% off for the app during the holidays.

thanks for the info @miri33. It was $225 to do it at MDC, correct? How long did it take you to do the physical and tests?

MDC Nursing spring 2014
Is anyone doing the student health record, and the drug screening/Titers/Vaccine at MDC? I saw this link on the website and it says that the cost is $225 all inclusive forthe nursing program requirements but I do not see anywhere that it includes the required Hep B vaccination. Campus Information - Medical Campus | Miami Dade College And is this for 1 TB test or both?

Hey guys, I received my acceptance letter to the Generic FT yesterday! My TEAS score was a 77 and GPA of 3.9. For those of you who have not received letters, do not feel discouraged. Some students applied to both nursing options and they will have to choose one. My friend is one of them. She applied to AO and GEN FT and she will most likely choose the AO. So be patient my fellow nursing prospects, many seats may be opening up soon. Looking forward to meeting you Generic FT'ers in January!

Need Advice: Looking to gain more experience in the health care field
I am currently acquiring prerequisites at a CC so that I can get into the Nursing Program at Chamberlain College of Nursing. I have no experience or background in the health care field. I want to start getting some experience and learn more about first aid and patient care. I am currently trying to get into a hospital by working as a sitter. I need to take a bls course before I can work at a hospital. As someone pursuing a career in nursing, is it worth it to take a first responder course, instead a basic first aid bls course? Any advice from other students on what I can do to get more experience?
