Hi all, I am an international student in US who recently graduated with a BSN and continued into graduate school. I want to gain experience as a RN while going to school full-time. My college or the international office is not letting me work as a RN as it would require a CPT. Moreover, they are not willing to give me CPT because it seems that the experience I am going to get is not required in my program of study. I am in the DNP program (family nurse practitioner) and RN experience would really help me grow professionally, and being an International student that added income would definitely provide more financial stability. Does anyone in the graduate nursing program (international student) face the same problem as me? How is your college addressing this issue of employment for international nursing students who want to gain experience? PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP! THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM FOR ME. Thanks, cpat
