  1. I think it is great what you want to do and I don't think that you should have to worry so much about the realities of a career that you haven't even entered into yet. Every job has it's downside, and I think the same annoyances, interpersonal conflicts and institutional politics are found in just about every profession. I started nursing school not ever having set foot in a hospital, but was drawn to it for some reason and the decision to follow this instinct was the best thing I ever did. It was a second career for me, and for most of my classmates who had husbands, jobs, children, and a few were even pregnant at some point, which only illustrates that you are not alone in wanting a job that is more stimulating and rewarding. Despite nursing's sometimes not so glamorous moments, it is a job that is always needed, appreciated, offers great comraderie, and allows for more flexibility than any job I can think of...you are a nurse wherever you travel to or choose to live...it's great. Go For It!
  2. Hi there, I'd be happy to help you out if you haven't already found someone. Also, I'm writing because you are going to school in Vancouver and I have a question for you. My boyfriend would like to go back to school to study nursing, and we are thinking of moving to Vancouver. What can you tell me about the nursing schools there? Which schools would you recommend...especially for someone who is going back for a second degree? Thanks.
  3. Thank you so much for the great information!
  4. I'm a US citizen who will be moving to Vancouver. Are there travel nursing jobs in Canada like there are in the US...it doesn't seem like there are, but thought I'd ask anyway. Also, which Vancouver hospitals would you recommend working at...I'm an ER nurse who has worked in trauma and community settings. Thanks for your help.
