DSN competitive?
I know they have used a wait list in the past, and it seemed like something they may use again soon with all the accreds. Just do the best you can with school and try to get volunteer experience just in case. With CU's one admission a year now for traditional, I am assuming that more locals will be applying here-if they can afford it.

DSN competitive?
Ok, so I had my interview yesterday with DSoN. The facilities and staff seem great, it is small and everyone knows everyone. They are hoping to expand into a MSN and a DNP program eventually. They don't offer a research course, which is a bummer bc I do want to continue onto a DNP program and need that class. Jeff showed me the school's 97.3% pass rate for the NCLEX. He also said that it would actually be around 99% if they could count for their out of state nurses. The school seems to have a pretty good reputation from all the accreditors. And, they should be regionally accredited this spring. About getting accepted, he said there has been a 57% increase in admissions for April. The admissions board will accept applicants with lower GPA's if they have experience. He said, "They would rather have someone with C's that knows how to do the job than a person with a 4.0 in their sciences and has never touched a patient." After visiting the campus, I am really excited about attending. I have my HESI entrance next month and as long as I pass that I will start in April.

DSN competitive?
Accelerated, starting in April. If I do not get into that one, I will reapply for the July start.

DSN competitive?
Kerleigh, I think you & I are in the same position. I did not get an interview at CU, and am now applying to DSoN. I have talked to a couple people at the school and an upcoming March graduate about the accreditation. They are now nationally accredited and are supposed to be regionally accredited this Spring. On many forums DSoN graduates have mentioned there haven't been problems applying/getting into graduate programs. The school had pretty high NCLEX passing rates and good reviews... I can't put off school another year just to attend CU.

Applied to CU Nursing, BSN Traditional, Summer 2013 start
I called today bc I was just unclear about if we were having the interviews or just receiving a letter. We will be having interviews on either the 7th or 8th of November. They will send out emails on the 25th of October, not before and not after. So no need to stress until next Thursday!! Thank goodness bc I was also driving myself crazy with checking! lol Good Luck Guys!

Applied to CU Nursing, BSN Traditional, Summer 2013 start
Hey Shannon, I called last week to check on some transcripts and was told that emails for interviews will be sent out by the 25th of October. They will not start reviewing until after the cycle closes on the 15th. But, I also got an email in response to the problem I was having with the transcripts saying that we will receive -by mail- our acceptance in November. Good Luck to you!
