Hi There! I have a job interview that was set up last minute (in a couple of days) with the critical care director of the local hospital where I live. I would love to hear input on how to prepare for this? I did my preceptorship in the department for the job I'm interviewing for but feel extremely nervous about it and I would like some advice/feedback on how to prepare for this. Such as what is extremely important to the director? What kind of things are important to them (critical care nurse managers)? Thanks so much! Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks to all that responded objectively. Wow, the opinions are little more aggressive than I sought! I was not trying to offend anyone, so apologies to anyone that might have taken this the wrong way. I was only trying to get clarification--I did not say I or myself said anyone used the terms "practicing in medicine' to mislead anyone. Just a curiousity/question that in my mind, that needed clarification. So thanks again, to all who so eagerly responded.

Is it wrong terminology to say you are in medicine if you are an ICU nurse? I know when one says, " i am in medicine" it most oftens refers to a medical doctor. However, don't nurses practice medicine too? Especially in the ICU, where nurses are not only constantly assessing but actively and independently adjust medicines like vasoactive drips for very sick pts and continuously doing hemodynamic monitoring and ...I feel like that in itself is very much the practice of medicine.... Just curious to see what others thought.

I am a fourth semester nursing student trying to prepare for a preceptorship in sub-ICU. What can I expect to learn/do in sub icu? Surprisingly a google search did not yield much and it doesnt seem like all hospitals have sub icu's ..or do they but just known as something else? any help would be greatly appreciated!
