I recently accepted a job in a private physician's office (Pediatrics), and will be leaving hospital nursing (which I have done for four years). I understood that there would be a cut in pay, but I was wondering if anyone out there has done the same? What was your pay cut? Do you enjoy the work better than in the hospital? What do offices normally pay RN's? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all! I am new to this forum but have enjoyed reading it for some time! I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. I am interviewing for a new job tomorrow with a local pediatricians office. I currently work in a Level II nursery and have done so for the last four years. I am looking for a change since I am PRN at the hospital and my hours are so unpredictable, as is my paycheck! I think working in a office would at least give me some predictability and countable income, but will my nursery experience be enough for an office environment? I sometimes float to post-partum, so I do have some older patient experience...anyone have suggestions or ideas about moving from hospital nursing to office nursing? Thank you so much for your help!
