do you guys know when you're going to student's acceptance day? I'm planning on the April one and getting there Thursday night and leaving Saturday? We should all get together if anyone is interested!

Hey Guys! I got the call on Friday from the admissions officer that interviewed me. I got into the BSN/MSN fall entry for acute care. She called me around 5:30 so they're calling all day! She also said that this is the first "wave" of calls so I'm sure that you'll be getting your call soon!! Fingers crossed for good news :)

Congrats to those who found out today! You're so lucky! Let's hope the rest of us hear sooner rather than later :)

Hey cnp! Thank you for all your insight! Do you know if they are calling accepted students on March 1st? Or if they are mailing the letters before or after March 1st?

If there was a dislike button, I would. It would be such a bummer if it came after March 1st! I've been banking that we would receive it before March 1st. I received that email about financial aid - I just assumed they would call us about acceptance and letters would be mailed.

That actually makes sense in the grand scheme of things. I've been waiting for a while now because I interviewed in Decemeber, so it feels like its been a while. They only interview once with an admissions counselour unless you applied to the MPH/Midwifery program (pretty sure that has been the consensus)

Hey Everyone! I found this thread a little late and looked through it quickly. Not sure if this was answered yet, but does anyone know the reason behind some people getting interviews with a faculty member of the specialty and those who dont? I had my interview in December and it was only with an admissions counselour (who was super nice!). Granted it's only been 3 weeks since my interview I'm getting anxious, especially that some people are hearing back already?! CONGRATS TO THOSE WHO HAVE!! :) When I asked, they said we will hear back BY MARCh 1st, meaning we can hear back at any point from our interview until March 1st. That was my impression!

meep - I have heard a lot of great things about MGH. I'm not completely positive if its by email or not. I can double check. I currently work with two nurses, one who is in the NP program (direct entry) and one who is in the PhD program. The one in the direct entry program says she really likes it. Once you're in its fairly easy. With that being said she had a GREAT stats in her undergrad so that's pretty objective. Her clinicals have been pretty much what she wants which is always a plus. I know two other people who graduated in 2000 and 2002 so things are probably different, but I haven't heard anything bad about MGH. The workload is balanced pretty much. The girl in the program now says that she has 2 "easy" classes, one hard (that counts in her eyes) and clinicals. They try to balance the program so that you can focus on the class that actually matters and clinicals. If you have any other questions let me know and I'll try and ask around!

FYI - i emailed admissions and asked them when we would hear back last week and they said they're aiming for mid-January!

I've been trying to find a discussion on MGH direct entry 2013 bsn/msn program! Glad I finally found it! I'm applying to the acute care program. I've heard mixed things from those who are in the program or graduated from the program. One person who graduated 5 years ago said that they let you know earlier if you get your application in earlier. I'm not sure what their acceptance rate is but I want to say its 50%. Hopefully they let us know soon!

adt, I agree with justD, I heard its 50-65% of applicants get an interview. I keep checking the system, hoping there's a glitch and it would tell us earlier! Friday can't come soon enough!

Hey hopeful, I noticed you said we hear from JHU in February...I just had my interview with them on Friday and they said they're pushing it to let everyone know March 1st. I was under the impression we would know in February also. Maybe they're getting a lot of applicants? But I also am a little concerned with the timeline but hopefully everything will work out for the best! Best of luckk
