My school's GPA requirement is a 2.7 cummulative and you need to maintain a 2.5 while in the program and you cannot earn any grade less than a C. It seems like that is too low of GPA for nursing school to require, but we have one of the best programs in the region. I attend a private Catholic school. So try looking into a private school their GPAs tend to be lower. Also there is less of a chance of being put on a waitlist :).

How was his diet? If he was not eating due to feeling ill you could use imbalanced nutrition. I think your anxiety is really good. You would need to change the way you explain things because he is so young. Also having the mother not be around when he is having an IV so that the nurse is the "bad guy" and when mom comes back she is the "good guy" and his source of comfort. It is important to not have this child feel like they are being punished for being sick. So I think you should use anxiety. I do not know about the hyperthermia diagnosis. It depends on how high the fever was. But since he was afebrile you may not want to use it.

Hi! I was hoping for some advice, insight, or words of encouragement from other nursing students or nurses who are/have been in the field :). Ever since I signed up for my senior year nursing classes I've had such bad anxiety over anything related to nursing. This is by far my best semester that I've had in nursing school and I'm doing very well in my claases. But after I signed up for my final year I've been having this overwhelming feeling that I'm not cut out to be a nurse or that I'm not smart enough. I know that I obviously will not know everything going into my first job, nor will I ever know everything. But I feel like I forget all the information that I study two weeks after the exams. I've been told that you go to school to pass the nclex and that you learn in the field. How many people feel like that is true? I'm worrying about the craziest things like will I know when something is an emergency, will I know what insulins to mix, or will I remember how to put a catheter in. I'm also terrible at math, that's also weighing down on me. We have to take an ATI exam this week for med-surg, peds, and mental health. I never do well on these exams and based on my scores from these tells me I will not pass the nclex. This obviously does not help with my anxiety. I know that I am just really stressed and this feeling will eventually pass, but it's so bad that I'm having trouble concentrating on my homework. I'm sorry for rambling. But if anyone could share their feelings or just tell me it's going to be okay, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you for all of your help everyone! After the mother found out about the heart murmur her mood drastically changed and seemed nervous. She also talked about the death of her baby with me and stated that it was a very tough time for them and was concerned for this baby because she went into labor early; but the labor was stopped in time and she delivered at 37 weeks. She also stated that she didn't have any problems with postpartum depression or the baby blues. So that's why I was think anxiety for her. But ineffective coping is also a good one!

Hi! I wondering if someone could help me with a diagnosis for my postpartum patient. The patient I had gave birth to a healthy baby, but it was taken for an ECG because the physician heard a heart murmur that was more pronouced than it would be normally in a newborn. This patient had a child last year that died soon after birth from Trisomy 18. I want to have a nursing diagnosis for this. I was thinking Anxiety r/t previous child passed away from Trisomy 18....but I don't think the r/t part is right. If someone could give me some pointers that'd be great :)!
