  1. I found that doing the practice exams questions were very helpful. My job had Jeff Scholhems CDs I listened to his lecture. Very helpful. Study study. Ive had Co workers take the test without studying. I didn't think it was too terrible.
  2. My ER has a provider in triage who sees the patient and assesses them we draw simple labs we have 2 chairs behind triage that recline. For EKG's and potential IV infusion and maybe medication. but once they get an IV we do not send them back to the waiting room. if the patient wants to leave we pull out the IV.

    It takes years to get this ER nursing! Every day is a learning experience! I have been the ER for 7 yrs. I am very confident in my position. Give it time ,ask questions and always ask for help your peers have been in your shoes. they should always be willing to help! Good luck!
  4. Lol. I felt that way after 2 wks in the ER after leaving ortho/ neuro. Remember you want a challenge. And that it is! 7 yrs later I became a CEN! Such an awesome feeling! I am a kick Ass ER nurse! You can do it. It is def NEVER a dull moment! Smile and do your best. Never be afraid to ask questions. It will take a few yrs before you become confident! You czn do it! Have faithin yourself! It will become second Nature!
