  1. I think part of the reason is because it is new and has such few members its not "popular", and doesn't show up in many searches yet. Try copying and pasting this facebook.com/groups/628328390553281/ It should lead to the page.
  2. I don't remember how I actually ended up finding it, but I know I struggled as well! facebook.com/groups/628328390553281/
  3. I tried searching for the FB page and nothing came up?! NVM, I finally found it!
  4. The blood test I had done was $80! So it's a good thing I only need to get it done once! I was adopted when I was 10, so I cannot find any of my health/ shot records from before that time! I cannot remember if I have ever had varicella either! So I opted to have my MMR and varicella vaccines done again. I went to the Health Dept. and received my first round today, and since it is a requirement for school there was no cost. (I figured it would be easier, and much cheaper to just get re-vaccinated in the long run). I generally wouldn't mind just paying for the titer, but since I can't even remember if I had the chicken pox as a kid, I was afraid I would have to pay to get the vaccine anyways if it didn't come back positive. And there are PLENTY of additional costs adding up besides that, so I'm going to save where I can! As for paying for school, I generally get enough financial aid to help with most of the tuition, if not, I would have no clue how I would be able to even attend! Has anyone checked out uniform costs? I know they attached a list of costs, but I was wondering if any of the uniform shops here would have the required pieces at a better cost (Like the Uniform Shop at the Outlet mall?) Also, has anyone purchased their stethoscope yet? With all these costs, I have a feeling I'll be asking for some of this! Haha, it'll be worth it though!
  5. @mommylx3 -Also, she was talking about the blood test as only needing one, not the skin test (which would still require 2 negative tests). Not sure if that was confusing in my other post or not?
  6. @mommylx3 I called and spoke with ****. She gave me a list of a couple places to try calling, and when I called and they didn't have the skin test available, she told me I could do the blood test as an alternative. This all happened Monday Sept 30. Also, I called the Recreation Dept at OCCC. They offer the CPR for health professions course there as well, for $45. The next class is Sat Oct 12 from 8:30am- 2:30pm. They will have one more on November 2nd
  7. Has anyone started their TB testing? Apparently Tubersol is on a national backorder and I couldn't find a clinic that has any available to perform the skin test. I called and spoke to the Health Professions Division and was told that it is acceptable to get the QuantiFeron Gold blood test done as an alternative. Also, that getting the blood test, we only need to get the one test done, as opposed to the 2 skin tests the welcome packet required. Anyone hear anything similar? I did go to the OCCHD TB control center to get the blood work done. I just wanted to know if I was the only other person in this boat?
  8. Any suggestions for the CPR class? Let us know when/ where everyone is going to be taking it, maybe most of us can get in the same class!
  9. It came!!! I received an acceptance email just now!!!
  10. I really need to get started on all of that stuff! I know I've had most of my immunizations, but I have no idea where to find records of them! It's awful, I know! I also need to look into the CPR class. If I get a chance I will post any information I find on them though.
  11. I'm pretty sure I turned in my application August 23rd (or at least sometime close to that). I've mentioned that I've been checking out previous semesters applicants boards to get a feel of how long they had to wait, and a general idea of what the cutoff was, and I notice many of them saying they called to check the status and all that, but I don't know who they were contacting! Anyone?! I'm sure we will be waiting a few weeks minimum, but I'm curious to know how many applications were turned in altogether?
  12. Ok, Applications were due yesterday! I wonder how many applications were received total? Anyone new on the board that applied for this Spring?!
  13. Haha! You're awesome! My wedding anniversary is over fall break, so I'm crossing my fingers we hear back before then! I did receive an email a couple days back stating my application has been received, and that nothing will be processed until the due date. then to allow 3-5 weeks for processing. Ugh! That seems like a lifetime of waiting for something like this!
  14. Applications are due this Friday, and other applicants on this board?!
  15. From what I've followed as well, I've come to the same conclusion. It seems pretty typical that 17 points seems to be the cutoff. So I'm hoping this year follows that same trend, if so it looks like we are pretty good to go so far! And yes, Nutrition does count as one of the sciences!
