1. The portfolios do not get turned into health science admissions. We are to turn them into the RN program office in building 41. You can call the program office with any questions about the portfolios. We received a list of phone numbers at the pre-admissions session.
2. For everyone attending the pre-admissions meeting on Friday. MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON TIME!
3. Not all campuses take ceufast.com. You will have to check with the campus you are going to attend. They will tell you that at the preadmissions meeting.
4. Yes from what I understand starting about half way through the first semester we go to the hospitals.
5. No clinicals won't start until about half way through the semester.
6. That is not necessarily true for everyone. Some people had to have MAC completed before they applied for January. It is posted on the web:

Currently enrolled Broward College students: Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the following prerequisite courses: ENC1101, BSC 2085, BSC 2085L, BSC 2086, BSC 2086L, CHM1032. Students must earn a grade of C or better in all pre-requisite courses to be eligible to apply. HCP 0001 and A2 HESI Test are required. Nursing applicants who have not broken catalog who are admitted for the January and May 2013 cohorts will not need to meet general education math requirement (area 5) and Microbiology (MCB2010&L) requirement. CHM1032 will remain a required pre-requisite. Students that are NEW or Re-Entry to the college: Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the following prerequisite courses: ENC1101, BSC 2085, BSC 2085L, BSC 2086, BSC 2086L, *including a general education math course (Area 5) and MCB2010 Microbiology, and MCB2010L (Chemistry is a pre-requisite to MCB2010). Students must earn a grade of C or better in all pre-requisite courses to be eligible to apply. HCP 0001 and A2 HESI Test are required.

If there are questions about what classes we should be taking, I think its best to see an advisor, preferably a health science advisor. That way we don't confuse each other since everyone's situation and academic journey is unique. The math requirement is college algebra (MAC1105) or higher .
7. At the pre-admissions meeting, they will go over all the HSC courses as well all other paperwork we are required to have done.
8. I was told the same thing.
9. Emails will probably go out today.
10. I just called again... If your status said accepted, you will be changed to pre-admission if you have not already been changed. No one will be in accepted until after the pre-admissions meeting. So if it says pre-admissions, we can all be  Also, they said letters would go out in the next day or two.
11. It does take time. Give it a few days and the letters will be going out. That is what I was told when I called this morning. Also, our statuses may change one more time, from accepted to pre-admission. Doesn't mean anything bad, just that we are not fully accepted until we attend the pre-admissions session. That's what I was told also.
12. Waiting is the worst part. But soon it will be over... the 15th is right around the corner!
13. It is not the health science admissions staff who makes the changes to the requirements. The changes come from higher up in the college (program office, deans, etc.). The admissions staff just follows what they are told to do. I know it can be frustrating. Trust me, I am in the boat with everyone else here as far as the waiting game goes as well as being subjected to the changes.
14. When I called earlier this week, I was told applications and points were still being updated. I am hoping for a response soon.
15. No points are awarded for HESI.
16. It is posted on the website, if you look at the pre-req requirement sheet.
17. Mine did too! Must have gotten approval for the waivers!
18. Yes, still the same. . I called and they said that decisions have not been made yet, to keep checking our MYBC accounts and BC email for any updates. I don't think we will have a decision this week. Looks like closer to October 15.
19. Yes, they look at each individual section, not the overall score.
20. Yes, from what I was told when I called, they are no longer taking deferrals. However, if students decline their seats, they will review those students who were not accepted due to space and invite new applicants to join the class. Its a hard waiting game. Especially for those of us who applied back in July. :)
21. Deferrals are no longer accepted for any of the health science programs. This started with all August 2012 classes. If a student does not accept their seat, they are required to apply for the next start.
22. Decision letters are sent to your Broward College email account. They do not mail letters via US Mail.
23. It just depends on the term. Every terms acceptance date is different. I know there have been terms that found out after the 30 day window had passed... With all the changes this term I wouldnt be surprised if we didn't know til the end of the 30 days at least. Just keep your fingers crossed.. I am hoping for a good outcome for all of us. :)
24. Decisions will probably not be out before then. Health Science Programs register different than normal students. Your registration dates are set by the admissions office. If right now you have the first day of registration to register, and you are accepted to the RN program, they will change it to the dates you are given in the pre-admissions meetings. You will not be able to register until then.
