  1. Hi, I moved to TN from MI a few months ago. I just received my TN license. I first got my TN driver's license and then it took approx. two months to get my nursing license in TN. Congrats to you!!!! Where did you graduate from?
  2. This is how I read the scenario: If you heard something via email today....You are waitlisted. If not, then you will probably be getting an acceptance letter within a couple of days. You will then have 7 days to accept or decline the offer. They will not tell you where you are on the waitlist.....It isn't necessarily negative to be on the waitlist; as they can place people until January if the floor is in need. It was a huge accomplishment to just get interviewed, so pat yourself on the back.
  3. I interviewed for the peds. track a few days ago. 66 people were interviewed for peds. We will hear something by mid November. They first have to find out how many people they can place for each section, on the floors, and then they will send out the emails. I have been focusing on working at Vanderbilt for the past five years and can't even imagine working anywhere else. I recently moved to TN, have my license and am excited to start working.
  4. Hi, I have a great interest in CF and now reside in TN where the main clinic in our area is at Vanderbilt. I know that my son's RN had over 28 years experience at UM in Ann Arbor, MI. She had more knowledge then the pulmonary doc. There are CF conferences, which I plan to attend in the future. I am very involved with CFFoundation and have raised research dollars for the past 18 years. Hope your son is doing well.
  5. I know this is an old thread; but I am very interested in being a CF nurse. I just graduated in MI and now reside in TN. I am applying for a residency program at Vanderbilt and my goal is to work with CF patients and their families. My son went to Heaven in 2004 and I promised myself that I would return to college, get my BSN and spend the rest of my life helping CF patients; until a cure is found. I agree that their should be a specialty, that more nurses should have an interest and hope to help with getting certification.
  6. Sooo excited! I was wait-listed and now have an interview for peds. Good luck to all those interviewing and who have already interviewed.
  7. Well, I don't know what to think about being on the wait list for peds. I thought for sure that I would at least get an interview. I graduated in April, with my BSN from MI, and recently moved to TN. My dream job is to work with children with cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary issues. I guess that I will start sending my resume to specific contacts at Vanderbilt and be optimistic that I will land a career.
