American Nurse Seeking to Work in Australia
...sorry another question! Were all these documents for visa and registration needing notarization as part as the "certified copy" bit? It seems like that costs a lot or does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks! ~Becky

Goooo SoCal!!! Another simple/quick question....for sending and attaching to your Visa online, how did you send the 2 passport photos? Was photocopying/scanning enough or did you just have to snail mail those??? Thanks! ~Becky

American Nurse Seeking to Work in Australia
Thx Lilly! I knew about the physical but not the $$$. Does insurance not cover any? I live in San Diego so I guess I'll take a look at that list! I think it's smart to wait on it until Visa is sent. Do any of you know the best time to be in Australia for 6mos or so? I was thinking winter time (summer for them) but that's soooo long since I don't expect to be ready this winter. But they probably have more jobs during their winter? ~may/June?... And weather seems nice all year round?

American Nurse Seeking to Work in Australia
Hi everyone, thanks so much for all this information. I am just getting the application/Visa process started so I have a loooong way to go! I am a pediatric nurse with my BSN, over 7 years experience, and looking to go over with my work/holiday visa for about 6 months. I have many questions but just trying to take one step at a time. Does anyone know that when you do your visa online, do you need to attach all the other information right away? I am supposed to get a lot of certified copies of things which I am working on but I am finished with filling out my visa info...just haven't pressed send. Should I go ahead and send it and hopefully attach everything else shortly? Thanks! ~Becky

Info regarding International travel nursing (temporary/short term positions)
Hello! I am new to this site and unsure which forum would be best for this subject, so please feel free to move it if recommended :)I am an American citizen and schooled BSN pediatric nurse with over 7 years of experience. I wish to try to travel internationally for ~6 mo assignment.... Preferably to Australia or Ireland, maybe UK or Germany.I am also in the DOD/government system as a GS/civilian employer, so may have opportunities to transfer within my current job to other military hospitals internationally? The reason I am trying for a 6 mos assignment is because that is the longest I can try for a leave of absence from current position, hopefully ensuring I still have job security when I come back.It seems like this overall process will take tons of research, out of pocket money, and time so I'm not disillusioned in a quick fix. I would appreciate any experience, helpful hints, and resources to get and keep me on the right track. Thanks in advance!~Becky
