  1. Do I REALLY need a BSN?

    I am also on my second (actually third) career with a BS in Biology and Chemistry. I have the ASN and found when I applied for jobs that I was considered and hired along with the BSN candidates because of my BS degree. I graduated in 2009. I am currently getting my Family Nurse practitioner online through Ball State which has a program specifically for ASN nurses with a Bachelors in another area. There are 4 bridge classes that you take along with your masters classes to get the required classes for the undergraduate work. I am not sure how this will be affected when the requirements change to require a doctorate but I know if you are enrolled in a program before 2014 you will be grandfathered into the old standards of only needing a MSN to practice as an APN.
