How do you draw up small amounts of medications for Picc lines?
Stupid new nurse question.. Why do you need a 10cc for a picc? Is that just what fits??

Residency program vs Rehab job
It's incredibly expensive to live in Massachusetts! They're basically taking advantage of the New Grads because it's one of the best hospitals in the northeast so people would do anything to have them on their resume. They're switching their computer systems over so they need extra bodies while currently hired nurses are training on the new system which is why it's an 8 month program with no guarantee of a job at the end. It's a little insulting if you ask me… but as a New Grad desperate for acute care experience I can't help but debate doing it!

Residency program vs Rehab job
Hi guys! I'm a new grad nurse and just passed my boards in May (woo-hoo!!) and I have two offers on my plate for a first job. I do plan on relocating from where I live now in a little over a year so for my first job I'm looking for a good "resume booster" so it'll be easy to find a job when I move. I have an offer for a residency program at Massachusetts General Hospital on a general medical floor, it's full time, low pay ($13 an hour, it's a little insulting), and there's no guarantee of a job at the end of the 8 months but it's possible to be hired. My second offer is at a Rehabilitation Hospital (not a SNF, the rehab hospital does many of the things hospitals do but with less acute patients ie. blood transfusions, IV therapy, wound management) full time, decent pay and a guaranteed job for until I move. What's your opinion on whether it would be better to do a residency program at a fantastic hospital and continue to build my skills but no guarantee of a job, or to have a real job where I'm on my own but it's at a Rehab facility. Thanks in advance!

Littmann classic II S.E. or Littmann Cardiology III
I just got accepted into nursing school and of course the first thing I want to do is buy a stethoscope! I've read a ton of the current posts on here and I want some new insight. These are the two I have it narrowed down to. I'm not worried about it "walking away" or the price because I am so excited and this is my gift to myself! I want to know honestly which is the best for clinical's, the most comfortable to carry around, and just what people like the best. I also reallyyyy want the coral color but I read about light colors getting scuffed and marked up easily? Is this true? Whatever I buy I plan on having for a while so I want it to look nice for as long as possible. Thank you for any tips!

Tips on getting into school
I have a bachelors degree in health science and I've been trying to get into a nursing program for over a year now. I slacked my first 2 years of college because I had no idea what I was even in school for but when I started my job as a CNA my junior year I Just knew I HAD to be a nurse. I love my job now, I look forward to going to work everyday and I want to take that next step. I've applied to several accelerate program and been rejected from them all. I have an overall 3.1 gpa which I know isn't competitive, I worked so hard my last couple years of school once I got I started as a CNA but I had a very low gpa after my first 2 years. I have an A in all of my nursing prerequisites and excellent reviews from my employer. I applied for a normal 4 year program and was accepted as a transfer pre nursing but I get into the actually nursing program is academically competitive and again I feel like I'm just going to be told no. Does anyone have any tips to make my application stand out? I want this so badly and I know if they would just let me in I know I can do great, but no program can look past my low gpa
