  1. Good luck to all of you future nurses!!! I currently attend Tcat memphis and I graduate August 2014 I'm so proud of me and I am almost one step closer to RN school! The train does not stop for me until Im ready to get off! Good luck guys you can do it! The best advice I can give to all new students is to stick together, and help one another out because you never know when you will need help and in my opinion the first semester is for weeding students out....so stay strong and bring your A game!
  2. Hi by now you should have hopefully had your interview usually Mrs looney is on top of her scheduling...anyway I'm in the class that will be graduating in august of 2014 so your class will replace mine...good luck future nurse!!!
  3. I was accepted as an alternate for the last class...so I applied again for the September2013 class and got in. My scores in English were 92 and math was a 96. Although my scores were high the first time around I asked around and found out that alot of students got in that already had a background in the medical field...cna and emts and most of them when I asked had lower scores than I did. However this is something that I really want to do so I keep at it and I start in September and then after that rn school for 12mths!
  4. @ tflowers34907- What school did you apply for?
  5. @ ANewMe2012...what is going on up there??? Lol. I talked to one woman in the nursing department and she seemed so confused...I guess I'm just being to anxious.
  6. Wow...she must have been having a bad day...well at least you can ease up on your mailman...when I finally got through to someone in the office...the woman seemed to be playing a guessing game with the mailing date and just picked one ...and then said the letters should be out one day this month!!! Smh
  7. Congrats to you!!!...I called and called but I only got through to the voicemail service...which its crazy because up until now I've been able to get through to the assistant with no problems!!!...huhhhgggghhhh...going to try again 2moro! Lol I'm not giving up!!!
  8. I am still waiting but today I have come up with a plan!!! I am going to call the school nursing department and act like I forgot how long they said it would be until they mail out acceptance letters! Then I'm going to try and ask the assistant have they already selected candidates for the program and if so did I make the cut!!!! Hope this works guys!!!!
  9. Guys...this is killing me...I hope we all get our letters this week so it can be official!!!
  10. Huhhhhhh!!!! I'm in the waiting period guys....I'm waiting to see if I am going to be admitted into ttcm for the jan.2013 lpn class. This is stressing me out...I'm on pins and needles waiting by the mail box everyday for an acceptance letter. Is anyone else going through this???
  11. Sorry to hear that...but dnt worry you can do it!!! My initial scores were just high enough to pass the test but I retested to get a higher score! So it can be done! ....The interview consisted of a panel of 4 people and they had a packet of papers full of questions to ask you...?'s like how wld you handle violence in the work place, what are your expectations from the nursing field, describe a normal day in your life etc. It was pretty basic I was nervous because it was infront of 4 people and it was all eyes on me but I think I did well. They said I had to wait 3weeks to kno if I got in so I've got my fingers crossed hoping!!! I'm ready to start my career!!! After this I'm going to take my time getting my bsn in nursing...You can do it don't give up!!!
  12. I'm happy guys!!! Today I had my nursing interview with the board to see if I am going to get in Lpn school in January!!! They drilled me with question after question but I was calm and cool through the entire process. I even engaged them in conversation when they had no more questions to ask. I think I did rather well and I am very proud of myself. When I was leaving the room I heard one of the women on the interview panel say she gave some really good answers!!! That was the highlight of my morning!!! Hope I don't have any hang-ups with being accepted and completing school!!! This is the start of my 2 year plan!!! #driven to succeed!!!
  13. I think they are ongoing but I'm not certain...that's the scary part. You can try to call them and ask to be connected to the nursing department or with Tanya Looney. (If you get her v.mail leave a message she'll call you back) She is the one who I have been talking to when I have a question about the program. I hope we all get in I'm ready to start!!! My interview is Monday so I'll post how it goes!!!
  14. Yea a woman called me this past week as well...I talked to some past grads from the program and they told me to expect an interview...they said if you do well in the interview then you should get accepted into the program!!! I'm excited!!! Hope we get in!!!
  15. Do you mean study for the initial test they give you before they give you the nursing packet??? Or the actual interview??? Glad you made it through the program, I had read some rough blogs about ttcm...I've been reading blogs from different parts of Tennessee and some of the ttcm grads are saying they are going back to school to pursue an RN degree because they were having trouble finding jobs. Just wanted to know were you experiencing the same problems? Or is it easier to apply at a ltc facility as a new grad?
