boobear0299, the polo tops are in, I picked mine up today. The book store is open on Monday and Tuesday until 6:30 pm however, they are closed on Wednesday the 19th of December. I did not see a final acceptance letter yet but they sent some instructions on stuff to do to prepare for our fist day of class check your email.

Christlee15 I called in and asked and they said no sneaker or clogs, slingbacks or sneaker it has to be an all white professional comfort shoe, I am thinking of getting a dansko, but there are others like nurse mate and such. That is for clinicals, I forgot to ask if we could wear an all white sneaker to school. We have to wear all white clothes for our clinicals so dont forget your zippered front shirt...lol I may call back and ask about the sneakers situation though...if anyone else knows please share your info.

Christlee15 you do not need the titer if the took the shots. The titer is to check for immunity and the date would be noted when you took the titer and your immunity was confirmed. PDowling... I am still keeping my fingers crossed that you get in as well....please let us know if you do.

PDowling dont loose hope the best you can do is to continue to get all the items u need done completed. Remember at the meeting they did say about 90% of the accepted always get their required items complete that leaves about 10% who do not...They also stated that it could even be up to the fist day of class you will be notified. Has anyone taken their TABE as yet? remember you need to have a 12.9 in all areas!

PDowling, I wish you luck on getting in...I really hope it works out for you. Mariahrose...I didnt do the titers either I just went ahead and got the immunizations. I got my Hepitits started today too, drug testing...it is so much running around but it will be all worth it.

Hi AbbyCook81, Congratulations on your acceptance. I am a mother of 4 children so I know it can be difficult. Based on the fact that you stated BCC program has nights and weekend class so that may seem like the best fit for you. You did not say but which commute is better for you? Hopefully some students who are in the program already can give you more feedback about the IRSC Nursing Program. Good luck to you on your decision.

Congratulations boobear0299. Hard work and deligence always pay off. If you have a dream you should always follow it regardless of the obstacles. I know we have to attend the mandatory meeting in October on the 10th. The ADN information packet stated that mandatory orientation is on Friday November 9 at 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. I also heard that registration for the Nursing Fundamentals is in November. You are absolutely right we should try to form support systems because this is where the real work begins. Again...Congratulations

Etjvn723, I understand your position. You have to do what you think is best for you. I agree with you regarding some people choosing nursing because of security. This fleeting fancy will pass and seperate the real nurses from the ones who are just in it for the money. I chose this career path because I had two preemies and was fortunate that they are normal healthy children. I feel that it is my destiny to give back and to be a part of an elite team that cares for the well-being of those sick and in need. You go an do what you need to do so you can pursue the career of your dreams and I wish you all the best.

However, if your scores from your prereqs are not over 100 it puts you in a position where you have to reach for a higher nln score. As [COLOR=#003366]jessicaleighbob, correctly stated you have to study for more than aweek before the exam. I actually studied for over 2 months a little at a time. I read the book in its entirety and it has a lot of information to cover. Some subject areas such as physic you may have to dig a little deeper by looking up more info and diagrams. For example the parallel circuit and series circuit. The book defines these but there are no diagram or indepth information on them and you have to look up a little more info on theses. You get scores based on your answer choice on the nln. There are answers that are just wrong and you get no score for that, usually two answers are close and you get scores on any of the two, the best answer you get full scores and the second best you get a partial score that is why they curve the scores. I do not know what your grades are for your prereqs but if those are not high you have to bring up you score on the nln. Do not give up, stay focused on your goal and do your best. Another thing I should mention, do not study the night before your exam, relax you mind, dont worry about what you remember and what you dont, it will all come back to you in the exam when you see the questions. [COLOR=#003366]PDowling, I agree Medvance should only be a last resort. Palm Beach State can be a back-up option, but they use the TEAS there. IRSC is definitely worth the wait and is more cost efficient.

I know how your feel reg4fun69 but prepare for the next round...and am sure your will ace it... PDowling I will see if I can get some feedback on the alternates situation and let you know. I heard that the alternates who do not make it for this semester definitely do the next round. I encourage everyone who posted on this thread to give feedback and support when you can to help others in thier quest for their RN Degree.

Hi JDsGirl, I contacted them this morning and was informed it was a technical glitch in the system and they sent me a new letter with my provisional acceptance....am sooooooo happy....I will continue posting on this thread to keep everyone informed of the process....so see you at the Mandatory orientation on October 10th 2012!!!!

Thanks PDowling my overall point count is 234....am soooo disappointed. I could understand if they said I didnt get in due to the program being full, but to tell me I didnt get in due to GPA, isnt the minimum GPA 2.5?...Am soooooo super happy for all you guys that got in.

Hi everyone I just checked my email and I am sad to say I did not get in...the reason they said was GPA. I do not understand because I have a GPA of 3.49 and the minimum is 2.5...I will call tomorrow to find out what they mean about the GPA.... The only thing in did differently was that I have General chemistry and they said something to the effect "Recent changes in requirements for the program include: Introduction to Chemistry CHM1020 as a required for the program and HUN1201 has replaced DIE2201. Students will need to complete English Composition I (ENC1101) and an additional Humanities Course." I have completed everthing so I do not know what is missing....I will call to find out and keep everyone posted.....A BIG CONGRATUALTIONS TO ALL THE HARDWORKING STUDENTS WHO GOT IN AND I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST!!!!
