  1. I have met with advisors....not very helpful. I have searched high and low for a tutor without any luck...really! I don't know anyone who has a tutor, and if they do, they're keeping it a secret. I've checked at school and on line. I have tried various ways to study (ie flash cards, recording, reading text book, study group, reviewing powerpoints, etc.) There are so many different modes of study and so much material to cover (ie 10+ chapters per exam), it's been a process to find what works for me. For the most part, I find if I stick to the instructors powerpoints and read those sections in the text only pertaining directly to ppts that helps save me time. Group study has been helpful. I've also met with a counselor on campus to help me deal with stress. I also try to review ppts before getting to class so I already know what the lecture is about and spend a day just reviewing sample questions from the various books I've borrowed from friends. I think I just went into this completely blind. Perhaps if I knew then what I know now my results may have been better along the way. I'm used to having better grades. I'm plugging along and doing okay. I think I just hit a low when I submitted my commentary and needed a boost. Today is a good day! Thanks for your reply and encouragement!
  2. Don't get me wrong, I want to be a nurse but it seems the odds may be against me. I enrolled in a 2 yr program at a community college. It was an accelerated program with Block II over summer school. I've never worked so hard in my life yet I only got a 74% (I needed a 76% to pass). I was so devasted but was able to enroll in the next semester to retake Block II. I'm now in Block IV, had a pretty good start with a few bumps in the road. My fear is that I won't pass this block by 2% like last time. So, if I should fail Block IV, I'm out of the program because you can only repeat once. Okay, so I could get my LPN but does anyone hire LPN's anymore? I have a BA from a University, English major and I'm an older student now returning back to school to make a career change. I really believed in myself, that I could do this and it's difficult to think I did all this hard work, and for what. Is this the universe telling me I'm not supposed to be a nurse? Has anyone gone through this?
