  1. How does one deal with questions about a short term job? I was fired after 6 months due to my facility's poor handling of a blood exposure I had, although I'm in negotiations with them now, I am looking for a job elsewhere. How do I address the inevitable question?

Pt's BP was about 110/78 but she bottomed out after 1 SLN. Trendelenburg and NS bolus got her BP back up, but afterwards I questioned my judgement for giving it to her at all and wanted to learn from it and prevent this in the future

What are the guidelines & parameters for BP before NTG & Morphine administration so as to prevent BP bottoming out?
  4. kagmc replied to kagmc's topic in Cardiac
I meant what does the BP have to be before I can give NTG and Morphine? In other words, if BP is above....I ca give it and below it I can't

  7. Although I hate for anyone to feel this too, it is very comforting to know that I'm not alone. The orientation I'm in is 18 weeks, and I'm 8 weeks in. My coach gets angry/frustrated with my time management and charting and I end every day feeling like a moron. I wish there was a resource with some ideas about how to improve nursing time management, but have not found any yet. Does anyone know of such resources or has practical ideas?
  8. Just wanted to thank all of you for all the helpful comments & ideas, I greatly appreciate it. Having worked in different parts of healthcare I've come to the conclusion that the people who write the programs & design equipment don't actually use it.
  9. My biggest issues are speed of reading (English does not jump into my eyes & brain) & typing (I'm a 2 finger typer), and remembering all the components of documentation & what to put in nursing notes, and time management skills. I HAVE to lick this thing, failing is NOT an option (if I did nobody would want to hire me after being dismissed from my 1st RN job & because having just moved to this new city & signed rental lease, etc., it would be a financial nightmare). What I need is any shortcuts, ideas, checklists, that would help me progress fast. Thank you.
  10. I am a new grad who started working in a hospital with EPIC a month ago. Due to to complexity of the charting, being ESL, and a 2 finger typer, I was given 2 weeks to get my charting done with accuracy and in adequate speed, or I will be let go. Any suggestions on a good check list to help with this? Also with education, discharge, admit notes? I'd be most grateful for any & all help.
