Tempe St. Luke's- are these just rumors???
Hi all! I was recently hired on with Tempe St. Lukes and was just wondering if there is truth behind the bad reputation. I seen many posts on AN that imply that they don't treat their nurses well but most of those posts are several years old. I have heard from nurses who work for other hospitals that they still have a bad reputation but I've also heard from people who were there about 7 or 8 years ago that the staff were close with one another. I would just like to get an idea for what I'll be getting into. Thanks!!

Rejected! And the search continues...

Banner New Grad Program
I'm not sure of the start date but the most recent time I talked to a recruiter about it was on the 27th and it sounded like it may still be a while due to the amount of resumes they received. On the plus side, it sounds like they are really going through each resume individually. Hopefully they will start making some calls soon. I'll let everyone know if my status changes from "under review". Good luck to all!

AZ new grad- why isn't anyone calling???
Congratulations!! What type of facility are you working? Will it count as that "golden year" of acute care? Regardless, any experience is good experience.

AZ new grad- why isn't anyone calling???
Hello everyone! I have been doing a lot of research and come to the conclusion that Phoenix is pretty much the worst state for new grad RNs, however, most of the information I can find is pretty much from 2011 and older. I'm curious how other new grads are doing this year. I graduated in May, licensed in July and have put out close to 200 apps with not 1 call for an interview. It's so disappointing to have worked so hard and now nothing.

Sim Labs
Hello! Sim lab and practicums are always so stressful- for everyone! Try not to think of it as "playing the nurse". You ARE the nurse. Treat the situations as if they are real and try to completely forget that you are being monitored. Fake it til you make it! If you pretend that you are confident people will believe it and you may even convince yourself. Good luck!!

NCLEX PN on the 5th..I have faith..
Congrats on making it this far! I checked the stats before I sat for NCLEX and it looks like overall most people pass. In AZ I think it is a 94% pass rate. That's pretty good. You may want to check the stats in your area to help you stay calm. As hard as it may seem, get good sleep the night before. So you may want to decide on a time to put the books away and stick to it. I have really bad test anxiety so I was just a ball of nerves just as you seem to be but to be honest, if you made it through nursing school (especially block 4!) you can do it! I read that a large amount of missed questions for people who didn't pass was related to the fact that they didn't read the question correctly. Try not to focus too much on the clock- it is timed- but focus on exactly what the question is looking for. Good luck!!

Banner New Grad Program
Hello! I applied for the Banner new grad program that was posted just over 2 weeks ago. I have been in contact with the recruiter twice and was informed that they received close to 500 applications and they are going through all of them first. I'm just wondering if anyone has landed an interview yet? I believe they were looking through resumes before scheduling interviews but not positive.
