  1. I've spoken to a couple of individuals who earned their MSN degree at Vandy, and both of them felt well prepared. I think most people like the idea of being able to complete the program in two years, but I guess it depends on your personality and how you feel about such a fast paced program. You can also start searching for a job a year sooner haha, but on the flip side- you may have more time to get some work experience in while you're in the three year program at Yale (if that's something you're interested in doing). It just really depends on what you're looking for. Best of luck with your decision! Either way, you'll end up at a great school...obviously, I'm partial to Vanderbilt!
  2. It's two years total. Three semesters in the pre-specialty year, and three semesters in the specialty year.
  3. hewoods, a lot of what was talked about during the open house was geared toward those who haven't applied yet, but I have to say that I was impressed by the faculty as well as the student panel.
  4. Thanks, hewoods! I know of two others who were accepted for ACNP, but I'm not sure how or when they were notified. I'll definitely pass along any info I get, and in the meantime I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for the both of you!
  5. wgrussell and hewoods, I got my acceptance letter for ACNP by mail last Tuesday. Hopefully, you guys will get some good news soon! It would be great to have you both as classmates!! Are either of you going to the open house?
  6. Thanks! Best of luck to everyone, I definitely have my fingers crossed for all of you guys!!
  7. I just got my acceptance letter in the mail!
  8. I think so. I would definitely like to check out the campus, and meet with current students as well as the program director. Is Vanderbilt your first choice, or are you considering other schools?
  9. Congrats, tadams22! I also applied to Vanderbilt's pre-specialty acute care track. I have been trying my best to wait for my letter to arrive tomorrow, but with everyone else finding out....I really want to call haha. Are you planning on going to the open house?
  10. Congratulations to everyone who got in!! Hopefully we'll all hear something soon!
  11. I applied for acute care, and I didn't get the email either! Have any other ACNP applicants heard anything?
  12. Hannah, I think you should be able to find the info you're looking for here: MSN and Doctoral Open House | Vanderbilt University School of Nursing Hope this helps!
  13. Congratulations, Sarah and Hannah!! KoKe, I also received the financial aid packet. I can't remember exactly when it arrived, but it was postmarked on 01/30.
  14. Hi, hewoods! It's nice to hear from another ACNP applicant. Did you apply to other schools or just Vandy? I'm definitely getting nervous too, but I can't wait for March! And congrats on the interview, jb! I'm sure the rest of you will be scheduling interviews soon. I wish you all the best of luck!
  15. I think ACNP pre-specialty students are required to complete both years in Nashville. That's definitely not a bad thing though...I love Nashville! Hopefully the distance learning option will work out for you though. Is Vanderbilt your first choice?
