  1. Awesome! Thanks for the info Owethu123. I really hope I can get into L&D. Checking my email now.
  2. I have been to the hospital website but there is no info there for incoming nurses. I just googled it. Thanks for the info!
  3. Great info hollylynn14. I am concerned mostly with the workload and hours. Will I only work night and weekend shifts because I am a soldier? How easy would it be for me to get into l&d after CNTP? What are my chances of staying in the hospital after CNTP?
  4. Glad to have some positive feed back. I was afraid for a second because no one I know wants to go there and I have heard of a lot of bad experiences.
  5. Hey! Checking in. Were you able to get on the August class?
  6. Dccubano I got my orders 1day after I received my nursing license number. I am also AECP. You may end up in the July class....I hear the august one is full.
  7. That's the only way you can get in, through your coordinator. Do you know anyone going in August that would rather go in July? If so then it may be possible to switch. Its really last minute but someone may have been placed in the August class and may want to go earlier. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. Can you possibly push it back to September?
  8. Hey! I am going to July BOLC as well! Someone I know was in ROTC requested August BOLC and received it, but it was before her orders were cut and when she was requesting her duty location. You have to speak with your coordinator... Whomever you sent your list of places you would like to be stationed. May I asked why you are stressed? Your time in grade doesn't start until you are actively employed. I wanted to start as soon as possible.
  9. Hey, received orders for for hood for CNTP. Has anyone has experience working at the hospital as a nurse? How is their CNTP program?
  10. Thanks okie36! Will try it after I test at the end of the month.
  11. I have no intentions of keeping her away from her father. I am aware that it is important for her to have a positive relationship with her father. I have been in the military for 8 years and I know how leadership feels about issues with childcare and single parents. I just wanted the perspective of someone actually working in the nursing field in the army and how they are doing it. Thanks for your reply pulsenessNine. We have agreed on custody and right now he is not stable and she will be with a family member while I am at BOLC.
  12. Okie36 Thank you so much for posting your experience. What is the pvt trick?
  13. Hi Guys, I am just finishing up my BSN degree and will be graduating next weekend. I was enlisted and will be a 2LT upon entering BOLC. I have a 2 year old daughter and my husband recently asked for a divorce. Do you know if it will affect my BOLC date? I dont know if it will even effect my career. Do you know any single parent nurses in the military? If so how are they able to balance an army nursing career and motherhood? I am in a really dark place right now as i owe the military a few years, which i will gladly serve, but i cannot give up my rights for my child as being a mother is just as important as being a soldier.I have been looking all over for information on here and cannot find any recent post for single parent nursing.
