  1. TaraPeds, you may have already found a position by now but in case you haven't I just started as a new graduate nurse in pediatrics at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. They are a teaching hospital and have 4 pediatric units. 4 of us out of the 8 nurses in our peds orientation this week were new graduates so they definitely hire new grads. I'm from Gainesville so if you'd like any more info just let me know.
  2. I'm a new graduate nurse and just interviewed for a pediatric RN position last week. The nurse manager told me that their peds colors are shocking pink pants with a white or coordinating print top but no black backgrounds for the print tops. I didn't ask why the black background was a no-no but I guess it just depends on the hospital (I'm in South Georgia and they're pretty conservative around here). I don't see why it would be an issue as long as it's not against hospital policy.
  3. Thanks Grmmy! Good luck to you too!
  4. I'm scheduled to take the NCLEX on Friday 9/7 and I wanted to look back over my notes from the Hurst lectures I watched a while back but apparently I'm missing some of the notes from the first few sections. It looks like I'm missing Fluid & Electrolytes, Acid/Base, and part of Oncology. I'm pretty sure I watched those lectures while visiting my parents out of state and they're in the process of moving so the chances of my mom finding them in all the boxes are pretty slim. Does anyone happen to have their notes from those sections that they might be able to email to me? I'd really appreciate it
