NCLEX test discussion/vent advice welcome!!
I believe my problem is having too many study aids and just being overwhelmed. I literally have every resource (saunders, pda, nclex mastery app, hurst, nclex 4000, and kaplan)... Im going to focus my studying on just a two/three resources max. it is impossible to study all my resources and take the exam in 2 weeks.

I passed !!!
Hey roze1205, i too took the nclex almost two weeks ago failed with 75 questions. my CPR also states two below (management of care and basic care and comfort), the rest near passing, and no above. I thought that I failed miserably (all below) with 75 questions but surprisingly only two were below. Did you get that thought too?

Confused about nursing diagnosis
My patient is a pediatric patient dx with perforated appendicitis. Patient has not yet had surgery. ND # 1: Hyperthermia related to perforation of the appendix as evidence by 102 F and warm to touch. My assessment: My patient has an infection, my assessment shows increase temp and high WBC count. However, i read that infection is not a nursing dx, but a medical diagnosis. So, i decided to do hyperthermia. is this dx. ok?? ND # 2: Nutrition: less than body requirements, imbalanced r/t ______ aeb _______ My assessment. Patient is on a clear liquid diet. Of course that's not enough nutrients for the ped patient. Patient is not placed on TPN yet. So... how would i formulate this nursing diagnosis? The patient only drank 250ml of water during my 6 hour shift. ND # 3: Acute pain r/t perforation of the appendix as evidence by pt. complains of a RLQ pain score of 4/10 (I will also describe the pain type, what makes it worse, etc) ND # 4: Constipation related to decreased peristalsis aeb hard, dry stools that are difficult to pass that causes straining and no bm for three days Through my assessment, patient complains of constipation and states "hard, dry stools that are difficult to pass that causes straining and no bm for three days". Is perforated appendicitis causing decrease peristalsis?? I am really confused and have lots of questions

Need exam/studying tips. Im failing my med surg class.
Hi. I am in med surg 2. We just had our first exam and I failed it. I studied for the exam, and I studied HARD; however I didn't do well. I took med surg 1 last semester, and passed the class with a minimum C grade. I need to do better in med surg 2 and failing the 1st exam isn't doing me any good. My studying habits: Most of the exam question is nearly from the powerpoints showed in class. I paid attention in class and wrote down notes the professor said. I understand most topics after studying and after reading the textbook. However, to remember the information is a HUGE problem for me. I don't have great memorization skills. For example, I can sorta explain a topic if I have the notes in front of me, but if I don't I probably can't explain it clearly. Any hints/tips anyone?? Also, I am studying with my classmate, but it's not really helping. During exam: During the exam, there are questions that I can answer correctly in which I know that they are correct. The questions I am answering wrong could be a question that wasn't covered in the powerpoint. There are questions where im not choosing "the best answer" or "what is the first priority". As I am taking the test, I also know that there are some topics I lacked in studying. I know my memorization skills aren't good at all; and most of the time I'm merely recognizing information rather than memorizing and sometimes understanding it. I know for sure, one of my problems is running out of time. We are given approximately a minute to answer each multiple choice questions. Can anyone help me out on this? I will talk to the professor and discuss questions in which I got wrong; but she hasn't been helpful in giving me any advice so far. Thank you in advance!
