I am graduating in May 2015 and I am so nervous on finding a position when I graduate. I am a PCT on my floor at the hospital but there are like 6 or 7 of us graduating all at the same time so it is going to be really competitive when we all finish in May. We have several Intern positions that open up in our hospital, and I was just curious as to what other options there are for a New Nurse Grad in the DFW (TX) area? I have been working in my hospital since March 2014--- and there are of course other people on my floor that have been there longer. Thanks for the input. I have anxiety issues about this, so any help is appreciated.

It needs to be the day they send the letters out already. This waiting stuff is for the BIRDS, Assumming someone had all of their support courses finished when they enter....how do you think keeping a job would be during nursing school? There is a real good chance I could get in, but also a real good chance I need to keep paying bills....lol!

Hello EVERYONE!!!! I am so nervous, I have good TEAS stats (84%) and 3/4 first attempt As but my GPA is a 3.3-3.5 because of my first semester in college. My past 4 semesters have been nothing but 3.75-4.0 though. I would relaylove to get in but I am super nervous!!! I just sent in my application. AHH! Any tips and recommendations and hope for me? Hello! I am applying to the campus in dallas. I have really good marks for getting in to El Centro, and i already Have an Associates Degree in General Science. My GPA for TWU isnt as good as applying to el centro It is a 3.442. But these are all first time I have ever taken these courses. I never took a course multiple times for science. My Chemistry course is a B, and My AP! is a B but my AP II, Micro and other sciences are A's. Do you guys have any suggestions as to what score I would need to make on the TEAS V to be accepted? What would be a good score to shoot for, and what chance if any I have of getting into the Nursing School? I would dearly love to be accepted to TWU! Kristina

Me too. I am waiting any minute for the mail to hit my house. usually it comes about this time of day so I am on pins and needles to see if any mail comes.

Yeah so I slept but not really. It was more like a nap. I hope it comes today just so a restful nights sleep can happen.

Yeah I get my mail at about 10:30 and there was nothing there. We'll know for sure tomorrow by 10:30 or 11 because thats when I get the mail :) But It's good to know they were already sent. And thanks :) I may get some...I think I might have some in the cabinet. Thanks! I had nearly forgotten :)

I know, and I am scared I won't get too much sleep tonight. Does anyone else have that theory? Oh, and if you can get them to tell you by going over there in person-----please do tell me because my house isn't but on the other side and I would have no problem with heading over there today. LOL! It's crazy knowing that we could know tomorrow or friday. I know its going to be hard to sleep. Has anyone else had trouble sleeping the past few nights? Got a few remedies? I have been sick so Dayquil, a Z-pack, and Benzonatate (100 mg..1 pill) has been running through my system in order for me to feel good and get better. Anyone have any ideas...cuz other than that if I cant sleep and i might end up with an allnighter tonight.

Oh I know. For real. That would be amazing if they would tell us, but I bet if they would 400009083049830493 people would be calling asking and their phones will be ringing off the hook. Wait....that's happening already lol. I doubt it though. I can't wait until we hear something back.

Oh idk then, I saw my points listed somewhere...I cant remember where. I could have sworn it was at the bottom or something. Idk maybe im loopy too. I do agree that I will be ready to tackle the mailman.

The ed plan is a form you can submit to el ccentro. *** ITS NOT REQUIRED DON'T WORRY!!! **** But you submit you rtranscripts, and the plan and they come back with what they would have on file for you and what else you would need to complete. It says something about it on the application. It's fine if its not done, its not like you dont get accepted or anything. I had to get it done a little way through because there was an issue with the system and 2 of my transcripts were lost going straight to admissions from the post office so I drove there, gave them an educational plan request form and my transcripts and they recorded all the info for me. I love disorganization of any kind -_-. Regardless though, like I said don't freak out. Not required or anything.

On the ed plan, if you got one, it said how many points you had on it. :) In case that helps at all.

I don't think so. I think with 24 you should be golden as well! We got this! And by the way, it's alright I keep checking the mailbox everyday as well!

I have no idea. That is what I need help on. I know it definitely says why you got rejected/disqualified on the letter that they send you. "READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. Applicants must submit complete nursing application materials to the El Centro College Health Occupations Admissions Office either in person or by mail on or before the application filing deadline. Application packets with incomplete materials will be disqualified and will be returned to the applicant. " That is on page 5 of the packet taken straight from it Kristina

Thanks :). I was curious, I may have read it wrong--- but on Part E on page 5 it says incomplete packets with incomplete materials will be returned to the applicant. i guess I am confused. I'm gonna live by "Good things come to those who wait." Thanks for the help!!!

Hey, If you have a an incomplete application packet it says they will send it back to you. Does that happen before they give back the notification letters or when the notification letters are given out? My problem is that I am like 99% sure I am in the program ***fingers crossed*** but I cant remember doing a little thing.....signing the application form. I remember filling it out....I just don't remember signing it. If That part would have been left out, would I have gotten my application back by now deeming it as incomplete? Kristina Redmon P.S. Hello everyone, I too have been following this forum for a while. I applied in july for spring 2013 with 25 points. THIS IS SO NERVE RACKING! Do you guys think this is a fairly competitive score? I had 17 under the old system. I think I am honestly getting a little anxiety over this. I keep thinking I forgot to sign the form on my application to turn in. I remember filling out the form, I just cant remember signing it. -_- It could honestly be me blowing up something I shouldn't be. Kristina
