  1. Thank you! Here is the link to the new discussion https://allnurses.com/florida-nursing/orlando-graduate-nurse-911361.html#post7797747
  2. Hi everyone! I'm a nursing student at UCF and will be graduating in August of this year. I was wondering if anyone has any information about the graduate nurse programs here in Orlando. My husband is in medical school and we will be moving to another city/state for residency in a year and a half. I am unsure about where to look for jobs when I get out because I can't sign the 2 year contract that FH and ORMC require for the graduate nurse program (as I will only be here in Orlando for a year once I start working). Does anyone know of other hospitals that hire new grads without a contract? Or is there certain floors that will train you without the two year contract requirement? Any information would be helpful!
  3. For the accelerated interviews there were 5 groups interviewing at the same time. 100 people interviewed for only 60 spots, 40 were wait listed.
  4. If arrival time is 9:30 and your interview is at 10:00 then you just need to show up at 9:30. I had a 8:30 arrival time (9:00 interview) and I showed up around 8:20 just to be safe!
  5. I'm in!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!
  6. I'm in!!!!! Yayyy!!!!
  7. The last class made a private page titled "UCF Accelerated BSN - Class of 2013" so it could be similar, just "2014" instead. I'm getting anxious waiting!! Fingers crossed!
  8. @ Nursowiczka2b I'm almost 5'11 so I feel ya! I'll be the other tall girl with a peachy/pink blouse and blonde hair!
  9. What is everyone wearing for the interview? Are you wearing a suit or a nice blouse and dress pants? I just bought nice dress pants and a silk long sleeve top. I tried on a suit and felt way to formal. I am not a person that an pull off a suit well!
  10. I have the 8:30/9am interview too! I'm a morning person, I wanna get it over with! See you there!
  11. That's exciting to hear! When I went to the last information session, they said that you get scores for grades, TEAS, pre-reqs, and interviews and they total that number up to determine who gets in. I asked which one was weighted more (the grades or the interview) and they weren't allowed to discuss that. So I guess we wont really know until the whole process is over!
  12. It's interesting that there are 4 interview times to chose from and they will be in groups of 4-6.. at most that means that only 24 people are interviewing? I must be reading something wrong..
  13. Got an invite! Yay!!!!!!!!!
  14. I am just going over general questions and really getting to know myself, strengths/weaknesses, why nursing, etc... From what I heard from the spring Daytona BSN interviewees, they were very standard questions just getting to know you and the interview was only like 20 minutes long. I think they just want to make sure that you are capable of completing the program and don't have obstacles holding you back. I don't think they will ask a lot of ethical/situational type questions because its a group interview. It would be too easy to go off of other peoples answers. If they just ask questions about you, you have to give them honest personalized answers. Even though I am nervous. I think its best to stay calm and just get excited for it! Its finally almost here!!! Be yourself, if your a good fit for the program, you will get in!
  15. Mine still says incomplete also! The administration hasn't approved yet. They may not approve it until they decide whether or not we are accepted.
  16. The accelerated programs interview date is March 22nd! It was included in an email sent when we completed the application.
  17. Hi everyone! I just applied to UCF's accelerated nursing program and had 2 quick question's about the interview that weren't discussed in the information session. 1. How long were the group interviews? 2. We're the questions just getting to know about you or were there ethical/situational type questions as well? Thanks and good luck in the program :)
  18. I was worried about the same thing. I called the CON and the guy thought they sent them but told me to call the testing center just in case. The testing center said that it automatically goes to whatever school you put on your ATI account. If you look at your test results it should say UCF as the institution.
  19. Thank you!!! I figured, but I don't want to take a chance of anything going wrong! :)
  20. Question for anyone who has completed the background check: I got the report back saying my order was completed. Everything is done except the "Eligible for Placement" tab. It says " 4. Eligible for Placement: INCOMPLETE School Administrator will indicate eligibility based on the results received" Does the nursing school fill this out after the look at applications or do we need to contact someone to complete the check??
  21. Those are amazing stats! Mine aren't quite as good: Overall GPA: 3.76 Pre-Req GPA: 3.97 TEAS: 88 On the plus side, I would never act like an a-hole... I'm just nervous about being able to get words out of my mouth because of nerves!!
  22. If you hear from Heather, let me know! I'm going to call tomorrow as well. I was accepted into UCF and my transfer report is up, but no degree audit. I have read previous post about there being problems with it.
  23. I scored an 88%, I am happy with it but hope that its good enough to get me into the program! It says that an 88 is in the 98th national percentile, but UCF is competitive so I am hoping for the best! I took it at UCF and they said they would send over my score to the CON but I am nervous about just trusting them, so I am going to call to be certain! Just sent in my application and received the e-mail you were talking about. Thank you!!!
