  1. Hi everyone, I was just wondering what kind of stethoscope you recommend. A family member was going to get me a 3M Littmann Electronic stethoscope as a gift. Does anyone else have one? Do they work well? Would it be worth getting it or should I just stick to a regular stethoscope? What do you recommend? Thank you in advance:)
  2. I go to college soon and I really want to get into nursing once I finish my prerequisites. I feel like this is really what I want to do with my life. Although, I struggle with anxiety and bi polar disorder. I take medication for it and I have it more under control, although I sometimes have a hard time in new situations when I'm around people I don't know. I get shy around new people, I usually just listen and observe instead of engaging in conversation unless someone speaks to me. I feel like this will hold me back to doing nursing or I will be a bad nurse because of it. I don't want this to hold me back. Are there any nurses out there that have the same problem? If so how do you deal with it?
  3. Hi, I'm currently in high school and have been wanting to become a nurse for quite awhile now. I plan on getting my BSN after I graduate. I keep seeing so many people speak so negatively about nursing, and its making me second guess if I should really do it. I see everyone talk about how they hate their job or how they hate nursing school or just nursing in general. Now I'm afraid that I'm going to hate it.. I wanted to become a nurse because I've always been interested in the medical field, and I had a near-death experience last year and the nurses at that hospital saved my life, and I want to save lives like they have saved mine. But now everyone is so negative about nursing and I just want to know is it really that terrible? How do you know if its really something you want to do? How do you avoid getting burnt out? Thank you.
  4. Hi, I'm currently in high school and thinking about getting into nursing after I graduate. I can't decide if I should go straight to the University and get my BSN, or if I should go to a community college and get my ADN, and then do an RN to BSN program at the university? Which would be better/ quicker? Thank you!
  5. Hi, I'm a senior in high school and after graduation I was planning on getting my BSN and becoming an RN. I want to work in the hospital. I was just wondering if you're allowed to wear your hair down or if you're allowed to wear bangs? I have lots of layers, side swept bangs and my haircut frames my face. When I put it up (leaving my bangs and framing pieces down) it doesn't touch my shoulders or collarbone (which I heard wasn't allowed). Are you allowed to wear bangs in school and in the hospital? I honestly hate pulling all of my hair back and Im pretty insecure about putting my bangs back. So are you allowed to wear bangs/framing pieces as long as they dont get in your eyes or something? Or do they make you pull all of your hair back?thank you!
