Hi guys, first time poster here. First of all, I'm confused on what to do. I was initially thinking of just trying to get an ADN because I have a BS in Biology and figure I would have completed most of the preqs. I got my Bachelors at UC Santa Cruz, but they didn't require a Physiology lab or Microbiology lab class, they were optional. So I've taken the lectures, but the labs I did not, but a lot of places are requiring the labs, so I figure I'll just take the lab classes. But they state it must be concurrently enrolled in their lectures... I'm going to go try to talk to a counselor today about it. Anyhoo, basically, I have to take more classes before even applying to an ADN, and the requirements for a BSN and MSN seem about the same...? Aside from the GRE and higher level requirements... basically, I'm confused. I'm a bit late starting in this game, and most of the pre reqs I could take at the local jc are pretty filled (I'm gonna try to crash them). I didn't know what I wanted to do earlier, and I'm a fresh grad (Just graduated this summer with that BS). Also, I live in SoCal, and from what I've been picking up from the other posters.. that SoCal isn't so ADN friendly, and wants BSN more... I just feel like my BS in Bio should be helping me more in things, but I feel like I just wasted a crapton of money on it when I could have gone a cheaper route, if only I knew when I was younger. I figure I would try to get into Cal State Longbeach's Nursing Program, heard it was good, but the biggest problems is the lack of the lab requirements, a missing anatomy and lab class, and they're only accepting within CSULB applicants. I feel like the above text might be a mess to read... Sorry about that.
