  1. I am a registered nurse and want to explore the idea of being cast on the set of a movie or a show playing a nurse, and also have thought about trying to model scrubs for a company. I heard of nurses going this but don't know where to start. Has anyone had experience with this? Any thoughts/advice will be much appreciated.

  4. they are exactly the same, maybe the layout is different
  5. Rebecca, from my experience, nursing schools don't take anything into consideration for admission except your gpa, nln score, and criminal history. Please don't waste your time getting a CNA or volunteering; it just doesn't matter if nursing is what you want to do. You should definitely apply to as many schools as you can. CUNY's are almost guaranteed not to take you due to your low gpa. If you want to speed things up try applying to a private college. I don't know where you are located/how far you are willing to travel; but St. Vincent's on Staten Island is almost guaranteed to take you as long as you pass their entrance exam(my friend who hardly speaks any english passed). Hope this helps. GL
  6. I am only in my second semester of nursing school and already I am hearing about how difficult it is to find a job in NYC. I have a year and a half left of nursing school (godwilling). I attend the college of staten island but am willing to work pretty much anywhere within the 5 boroughs. Are there any steps I can take now that would give me a better chance to get hired right out of school? Do I intern at a hospital now? How do I network? My school is not helpful in this regard, please advise. Thanks
  7. I am in the nursing program at CSI and my friend is trying to get into Hunter's nursing program. You have a good GPA, stay at CSI because the classes are MUCH easier than they are in Hunter, keeping a high GPA is very important for the future when applying into Masters Programs.
  8. I already went through Nursing 110 and know many people who were rejected, it does not matter how many times you apply - i suggest applying many times this way maybe once you will get lucky to get through. You don't have to write a letter of "re-admission" because you were never "admitted" to begin with - you must have had to fail out of the program to apply for re-admission. St. Vincents on staten island is a good alternative if you cannot get into CSI's program and they do give financial aid; or you can try Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC).
