Would any of you share your MS assessment/reassessment policies? I am helping to update our policies and have not found any help from AMSN or any other professional organization. What are your routines for VS, assessment, etc? We have a mix of peds, mental health, geriatic, surgical, medical, 23 hour obs, OP transfusions, swing, hospice, step-down. We are a 28 bed dept in a 41 bed community hospital. Any help is appreciated...the task is daunting!

We are in the process of implementing a charge nurse role in our MS dept. We are a 28 bed MS/PCU/Tele. Currently the dept is run by the mgr 0800 until 1600 and then House Supers from 1600 until 0800. Have any of you done the same? How did you go about training the new charge nurses. I am most curious about making staffing and assignements.

I agree with your observations, but let's all acknowledge the transgressions of the past and move on... If your boss were to ask you what you would appreciate as recognition for all the hard work that you do, what would be worthy?? (Bear in mind the reality of a department budget.) It is very difficult to make things right if history keeps repeating itself. If WE don't know what we want, how can they??

I posted this on the survey site as well, but wanted to ask my fellow leaders what they have planned or have done in the past to recognize staff for Nurses' Week.

I would like some ideas about what you would appreciate as recognition for Nurses' Week or any other occasion worthy of recognition.
