Really jealous of everyone starting nursing school in the fall!
ebailey I couldn't agree more!! I totally want to be in that spot because I know it's where SO many people want to be!! It's making me more and more determined to get in :) sjtrk: Hope it helps!! I tried the ATI review book but it didn't do much for me! it made everything seem like common sense but once I got to the test it didn't improve my grade at all, the mcgraw hill book hit the nail on the head, especially in the math portion. my problem was I didn't start studying early enough (big mistake) and really only got time to concentrate on the math portion, which i killed! science, not so much. So i'll be sure to go back through both math and science and come next test time, I'm hoping to break 82 :)

Congrats on being together for so long! My fiance is my high school sweetheart, but he was in college when we met, so i guess I'm his college sweetheart? lol I don't know how that works. ANYWAY, if you are worried about the TEAS, I highly recommend the Mcgraw hill nursing school entrance exam book, if you really go through and familiarize yourself with each section and take the practice tests, you'll do a lot better on the TEAS! i've bought 3 books and that one worked the best.

Thanks again everyone :) the thing with applying to another school is every other community college has COMPLETELY different pre req requirements, I think they do it on purpose to keep you from applying to multiple high-competitive programs- which is totally uncool. So it's not like I'm even eligible to apply for back ups unless i take multiple semesters to take all these random classes. I can, and plan on, applying to the 4 year BSN program (but I REALLY don't want to start over cause I've already taken all the pre reqs!!) which I should have done this past year but missed the deadline... I know for a fact I'll get into that cause I knock their transfer student requirements out of the park, so that's my backup this time around if I don't get in again. Slowly but surely, I will get where I want to be. And thanks for everyone who congratulated me on the wedding! It IS a huge life event so I think I can handle focusing on my big day until next spring comes around and I re apply.

Thank you all sooo much, it really does help knowing other people have been in his situation before because there really is that feeling of hopelessness and defeat that I have to overcome. Stephalump, your story is amazing, that's great you were able to get back on your feet and congrats on your little one :) I know it's difficult going to school with a child, my mom went back to school after her 7th child and had 2 more while in school! She's the main reason I think "if my mom could do it there's no reason I can't." and I agree about the wedding planning, deep down I know it's better this way that we can focus on the wedding and if I was in NS I have a feeling I'd be too distracted. Thanks again everyone

Thank you all for the kind words and support! zoe92 it will happen!! Just not as soon for us as for others I guess lol MissTexas my B's were in psychology and A&P1. The thing that really sucks is i retook psychology and my professor was a senile old woman who screwed up my grade after telling me I had an A she gave me a C, long story short I went through hell and back to get her to bump it to a B but she really messed up. It's setbacks like that, which was out of my control cause she didn't keep records well and always got confused on information, that are hard to overcome but what choice do I have, nursing is my calling. Now I'm going back for a THIRD time to try and get an A in psych-with a diff teacher this time for sure. Arghhh

Really jealous of everyone starting nursing school in the fall!
Hi everyone, this is my first post and I'm currently taking my pre reqs for nursing school. I've actually been going to community college for 2 years already and have taken all the pre reqs but just got rejected from the nursing program with a 3.5 GPA and 78 TEAS exam. It's so competitive it drives me crazy. But I'm just going to retake the classes I got a B in and work my butt off to get in next year!! Sometimes I want to give up and take an "easier" major but it takes about 2 seconds before I realize why I want to be a nurse... and my time will come and all my hard work will pay off. I'm currently planning my April 2013 wedding so hopefully all this planning will take the sting off not getting accepted. Just wanted to share my story and hopefully will meet lots of other people in the same boat as me :)
