Hi Nicole, I'm finally knocking out my last pre-req. I just got done applying to nursing school and will find out something by the end of May. A/P-1 was definetly the hardest for me. All I can tell you if you decide to retake A/P again ask some other students about the instructors. You can go to a website http://www.ratemyprofessor. You will find a listing of feed backs provided by other students that have taken certain instructors. Don't give up. Believe me I know where your coming from. I have three kids and have to wait till everyone falls asleep before I can get any quality studying done. Its pure memorization. But the most important part is understanding what your reading. Of course the lab section of your A/P is memorization of all the different parts. Just hang in there. You'll be fine
  3. :imbar Just noticed the student nursing forum. Thank you for the replies...I will sure take a look over there. Thanks again for the advice! ~R
  4. I am needing some suggestions and/or help. The story is kind of long, so please bare with me. I submitted my nursing school application to 2 ADN programs in my area last Fall. One program I was denied admission to, the other I was given a pool slot. My GPA at that time was a 2.7. Currently...I'm in my last semester finishing my last prereq(chem). My current GPA is a 2.8. The date for submitting applications for nursing school has arrived again...my problem is I am not sure how to go about stating my reasons for admission. One school doesn't require an admission statement...the other does. I have been beating myself up about this for the last two weeks. I feel like I approached the application wrong the last go around. The applications asks a simple question..."WRITE A BRIEF PARAGRAPH CONCERNING YOUR REASONS FOR SEEKING ADMISSION INTO THE REGISTERED NURSING PROGRAM." Last time I submitted... I listed personal reasons within a short paragraph. Love of people, death of my mother, etc, etc, etc. Well...apparently all my personal reasons didn't help. Can anybody offer some advice on what they may be looking for? I am thinking it's more like a why do you want this job kind of question. For example....Reasons for seeking admission may be 9 years of military experience...shows adaptability to fast paced and changing enviroments, highly motivated, etc, etc,. I know my GPA is not the best but I know if given an opportunity in nursing school...I would make one hell of a nurse. I have wanted this chance for years. So....if anybody is willing to give me some pointers...I could sure use them. If you have read this far...thank you! I know I am not a nurse or nursing student yet...but I'm trying to join you all...I didn't know where else to turn....so please be gentle :imbar ~R
